Some disappointing creative decisions it appears, but still great. Can’t wait for the next 8-10 weeks (don’t know how many episodes they dropped tonight).
Also Danny is 100% paralyzed right? Got hit by the cable, episode ends with him dangling in space alive but not moving.
I’m not as impressed with these two S3 episodes as everyone else is, but in no way am I saying it’s a bad show now. 60 year old Karen could still get it, tho.
Not a fan of setting up the Baldwin v. Poole rivalry as a hostile one. Just doesn't seem in charactor for either to have that kind of shift. (I know that Poole has a legit reason to be pissed at Ed, but IMO, that isn't something Ed would have said in season 1 or 2.) Also, why the fuck are they continuing the pedo storyline?
Loving Ed's arc here. He clearly aborted that landing because he didn't want to kill his best friend's kid.
A major miscalculation from the get go with this story line/character. Hopefully he can redeem himself by the end of the season and we’re done with him after that
That’s what I had in mind. Redeems himself by sacrificing himself and is gone. Although I guess that would likely lead to people in the slow continuing to talk about him, which would not be ideal. Whatever happens, I would like a course correction in this character at the end of season 3
It’s pretty rare that there are shows where I really like every character, but this was one and that’s why I loved seasons 1 and 2. But holy shit is Danny a bad character and it’s definitely making the show worse.
I binged this and got almost all caught up, have an episode or two of season 3 still to watch. Really like it and enjoy the time jumps between each season. Also on team hate Danny and hope he dies while on Mars.

maybe i was not paying close enough attention when they decided who'd go out, but why did they send the russian out on the rescue mission? he had just been in a major event, it would have been easy to understand he may be injured/otherwise need the rest. just didn't seem like the smartest decision to send him right back out. danny needs to die still.
The vomiting in a spacesuit is one of the big fears of astronauts over the years. Imagine hurling but you can’t open your helmet, you just have to deal it. and if you are in microgravity, it could surface tension could keep it on your face and choke you if it gets up your nostrils.
How many single man shuttles did North Korea send to Mars? Had to be in the dozens. Hoping one or two would make it
Also I was just saying as they were driving over to the site “this season just didn’t have the same stakes as last year when they had an international conflict and guns in space”
Not gonna lie. At work I talk about this show with a buddy and made a joke that Korea was going to get there first. Early in the season there was a news clip on it. Had a feeling it would be relevant.
Just finished. Enjoyed it and it definitely ended with a bang (no pun intended) but I think the season was really hurt by the Stevens brothers plot lines. Both were so bad, so annoying and mattered way too much in the end. My hope is that they reset, give us much less of them in s4.
I am glad that they didn’t give Danny an out being the hero in the end. My hope is he’s in jail or something next year and they just write the character of the show
there was a bit too much going on there but def enjoyed the season, its a fun watch. interested to see who they have as potus in 2004
Stevens brother storyline has pretty much ruined this show. I wish they found different ways to get to those big moments in the show. Spoiler I also realize you need to stretch the imagination for a show like this, but they literally strapped a pregnant woman to the top of a ship. Were they just trying to one up Matt Damon and The Martian?
I’ll be very very very interested to see what they do next season. All those hits are going to be what, 65-70? They can’t be the ones to go into space, but I don’t know how they do that. I still enjoyed the season for sure, but it was definitely a step down from season 2 imo
I audibly laughed when they didn’t at least field strip the gun and bury the parts in different places.
