Just checked out Papa Jazz down in 5 Points and stumbled on "Here We Rest" on vinyl. Sounds great on my record player and the 7" bonus record is pretty sweet, too.
Like this song a lot Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit - Go It Alone Jason Isbell - Go it Alone (Live at Saxon Pub Part Three)
Fellow MB'er Virgil Caine and myself were at this in Oxford. It was absolutely fantastic. Patterson Hood and Jay Gonzalez at Music in the Hall 22 (Part 1)
For those that are close to the area(s) Jason Isbell will be in Huntsville at Crossroads Music Hall on July 8th. DBT will be at Handy Fest in Florence/MuscleShoals on July 31st.
If anyone will be around Auburn this weekend, Patterson Hood will be playing at Standard Deluxe in Waverly. Fuck yes. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=154431417959610
A buddy of mine (fellow trucker enthusiast) mentioned that he never gets into a DBT album until a new one is released ie listening to the Big To Do a lot lately. What does everyone else think about my buddy's comment
I didnt know he was playing hitone until i drove by yesterday and his name was on the marquee, fuck i need to stay on top of that shit
I don't really ever get into their albums. For me, DBT and Pearl Jam are two bands that are only good live or recorded live. I buy their CDs, put them in my wife's truck and then download bootlegs for me to listen to.
Saw Isbell on Friday night. Damn good show for the most part. Sound guy fucked his mic up during "Alabama Pines" which was shitty, but other than that, we had a good time. DBT in Florence on the 31st.
downloaded like 90 dbt songs the other day. im sure every band is like this when you have a big collection but half their songs sound exactly the same. they've got like 10 songs I like and then 80 that are all :|
Great DVD but depressing because of how bad ass Isbell was. Saw DBT in Tuscaloosa last Wednesday.....incredible.
Don't get me wrong, I'm as big of a Isbell fan as there is but we saw him in Auburn in August and was pretty dissappointed. It was a quick 10-12 songs with no encore and he was gone. DBT on the other hand......
Yall listened to Adams House Cat yet? Damn good stuff. http://www.facebook.com/notes/drive...-reflections-21-years-later/10150372059487347
