I'm glad I only tuned in for the last 2 minutes of regulation or else I might be quite furious right now Roll Tad Kill that fucking wetback Arab fucking pile of burning scours who cheers for Arizona
You're taking this a little hard I see. No worries, Tad will get a job at a place worthy of his bad-assery and you'll be back to being shit soon enough and not giving a damn about basketball.
literally not mad at all I'm just an American so saying horrible things about minorities is what I do.
Ref basically admitted he had no idea what he was doing when he told the ESPN guy that the ball was still in his hand when the clock read zero. Ok. That might matter if the clock had anything to do with your call. You're supposed to go by the Red light and only the red light.
Refs fucked CU bad, but we've been on the wrong side of calls that bad... Pac-12 refs suck. We'll take the win but it's definitely a bit hollow. Where the fuck did that Chin choad come from?
No, when you factor in those intangibles, we haven't. We have had wins more or less stolen by Pac-10/12 refs in the past few seasons.
Troy Walters @CoachWalters1 I am excited about the new chapter n my life. I am the new WR coach at Univ of Colorado! TY WPN for 1 awesome season of love n support! Thoughts?
He had a really good relationship with our best commit so far in WR Kyrin Priester. So good that Priester had planned on de-committing if Walters wasn't retained (he has taken back that comment, but he really liked Walters). I think he has some potential in the recruiting department, but TOB isn't known for closing the deal, so it's really tough to tell.
extremely happy to see Troy Walters is the WR coach solid hire very excited to see who is the RBs coach now
Me too, this hire shows that we are looking outside the obvious pools for candidates (coaches previously affiliated with CU or SJSU) and have them be good coaches from another BCS program, not just unknowns
TAS Sportfan Hello fine Aggie gents, I've tagged you because Colorado has hired Troy Walters as WR coach. I know he only spent 2 seasons in your fine Aggieville but I was hoping you could fill me in on anything you may have learned about him during his time there. Thanks You and God Bless, Cornfed Buffalo
awful awful coach and lazy recruiter sorry, but our WRs dropped everything last year and you could tell they were 100x better catching the ball and blocking downfield with David Beaty as the new coach
He took over a young group of guys in 2010 and they did pretty well. The same group guys kinda fell off in 2011. Fuller was supposed to be a 1st-2nd rd kind of guy and he went undrafted. Drops was an issue last year, and the same guys improved significantly in that area this year under a new staff. A lot of people didn't like Sherman's WR recruiting so he wasn't working with elite talent. Probably not what you want to hear, but he seemed like a JAG. Hard to know how good he was, because so much of Sherman's approach was geared towards professionals and didn't work with college players. Sportfan can probably speak more to his recruiting abilities, but I don't remember him being exceptional, which is what you hope for in your RB & WR coaches. (Edit: looks like he chimed in)
He wasn't dealt a ton of talent at WR position and Jeff Fuller smoking himself into a coma his senior year didn't help either. Recruiting wise he was downright deplorable, there are some bad stories about a few of our recruiters under Sherman and Troy was part of that group. WR recruiting in 2010/2011 was horrible for the offensive production A&M had to go along with a great talent base in the state of Texas.
Hopefully that was a error of youthfulness and some more time on the job has helped fix him. I know ncrebel said he was basically solely responsible for their highly regarded WR commit this season.
Austin Vincent coming back as a walk on? Sounds good to me. Paul Richardson, Gerald Thomas, Nelson Spruce, Jeff Thomas, Bryce Bobo, Devin Ross, Elijah Dunston, and Austin Vincent. All of a sudden our WR core is decent amount less shitty.
I'd be pretty surprised if we lose Ross and Dunston. If they are actually a package deal, Dunston doesn't have many, if any other options. Bobo sounded like he liked the new WR coach hire to. This weekend will tell us a lot.
