I certainly defer to you on Michigan hoops knowledge but I'm wondering if Vlad is having second thoughts with Wolf already committed. I don't see how you can play those 2 together.
don’t think we’ve even made contact but would be happy if we did word is adou to unc and that would create a bit of a roster jam on the wing i guess
They visited on the same weekend. I think people have been questioning that all along, but I think most thought Wolf would be the one with more concerns about it. I think the general assumption is Goldin's history with May means he'd be the starter and probably play more minutes. I think Goldin is overrated and don't think it's a huge deal if he doesn't come, but everyone covering it has been pretty consistent all along that both of them are okay with it.
Hmm... Guy averages 15.7 on 25 mpg and is a solid rim defender Didn't expect to see anyone calling him overrated
Overrated doesn't mean bad. He's a really good center for FAU. In the B1G, he's probably average-ish.
I think I mentioned it before itt but he was set to transfer to Mizzou, but the family decided to keep him at a smaller school away from the spotlight. Kind of stinks because he's pretty good.
Depends on what else is around them, IMO. Goldin is almost certainly a better defender/rebounder in the more physical league. I just question how much of the offense translates over the course of a full season. Since everyone says it's a done deal he'll be at UM, I'm very open to being wrong if it turns out I'm underestimating him.
Re: Indiana and shooting Simply changing the offensive approach would go a long way towards shooting a higher percentage from deep. Yeah they probably need better shooters But they also need to stop getting bogged down in long half-court sets and Woodson needs to abandon his belief that the game is still played inside out or whatever he said a couple months ago
Turning Gabe Cupps/Trey Galloway/X into Myles Rice/Kanaan Carlyle/Bryson Tucker is going to help that that, you'd think.
can’t wait until he goes to Michigan and misses a shot, so I can start calling him Vlad the Air Baller
I don't think that is the plan. I think their ideal end game is they add Aidan Mahaney at the two and then maybe Khani Rooths at the four to end up with a rotation something like... Donaldson Mahaney Gayle Jr. Walters Goldin Pippen Rubin Burnett (if he doesn't transfer) Rooths Wolf Obviously a pretty big "if" to land the plane there, but it definitely seems like that's what they're trying to get to.
I guess I was operating under the assumption that neither Wolf or Goldin would sign up to come off the bench. Have they indicated one would be okay with that? Also is Rooths recommitting?
Sam is a solid get for Michigan. He'll be a very good rotation guy who will knock down a ton of kick outs in May's offense. Great kid, too.
No one knows. Or will know until Goldin officially commits and people start talking about it publicly. I don't know what the market was for either of those two. Pretty sure Michigan was basically the only place Goldin really has considered because the May relationship, and Wolf was rumored to be taking a visit to UNC that I don't know if he actually made. He also came close to walking on at UM out of HS and is a fan, so that seemed to come into play as well.
Looks like we will get to see how Wolf+Goldin will play out, Trilly put in a prediction for Michigan this morning on Goldin.
No, he's a good rim protector, good post moves, great rebounder. His free throw shooting is terrible though, and his passing and hedges/screens need some work. Overall though, we wanted him back badly and were not happy he left.
Eh, we kept Garcia, Fox, and Mitchell, and hoping Christie withdraws from the draft and stays at MN. With those 4, we should at least be okay. Definitely sucks to lose Payne and Hawkins though.
