Really enjoyed the finale, I think the obvious is that Axe is going to start nailing Wendy and I like that Chuck has Axe back in his sights again.
Loved Connerty finding out he was the idiot. Can't wait to see how Chuck handles the Axe and Wendy news.
Agree that they can’t continue this storyline of Axe and Chuck going back and forth. Either end the show with the next season or kill one of them off (and hopefully Taylor)
doing my every year re-watch before the new season and finally got my wife to join and she's now become a big fan so that's cool.
Glad they got the triple cross all on the table episode one. Continue to think they need to knock off one of the big three if they want the show to have legs beyond this season but Axe and Chuck are the show. They are indispensable, so it’s damned if you do damned if you don’t.
10-15 is what I've been going on the whole time. Whatever, I like this show but only spend a few minutes of brain power a week thinking that deeply about it.
Just wanna reinforce for the 800th time what Axe is and it’s annoying The other characters make the show
Chuck's dumb 'Dexter' angle, the non-motivational 'wrestling' schtick, Axe getting a standing ovation from a bunch of kids for a speech that was horrid. Jumping the shark, I think.
I started this show about a month ago and caught up this weekend. The greatest line of the entire show has to be the AG asking Chuck if he knows what prison smells like and Chuck saying "is it dick? I'm guessing dick." The show would have been better if they would have killed Lara off by having someone accidentally shoot her while trying to kill Axe.
Just catching up on the last three eps. About to start last Sunday’s. This season is sooooo bad. Taylor and this new fund no one cares about Some random ass painter Chuck being a professor Wages and fatherhood I mean what in the flying fuck on these story lines
i started watching this yesterday and I'm about halfway through the first season. it's pretty fun. the therapist wife is my fav character
i finished season 1 but don't think i'm continuing. the "showdown" between the hedge fund guy and the attorney at his office at the end just felt pretty corny. and the wife (who was my fav character) either has no future purpose on the show (separated from attorney, quit the fund) or there'll be some non-sensical reason for her undoing that.
FWIW, she does. She might be the most complex and deep character in the show. Seasons 2-3 the show hits its stride and is great (for what it is), 4 is good, 5 has been a disaster.
You're probably wise to bail now. The entire plot of the show is how can Chuck and Ax one-up each other. There’s literally nothing more to it than that. Well, except seeing how many pop culture references Brian Koppelman can shoehorn into a script.
Started the show recently and am in the middle of season 2, thinking to myself hey this is entertaining let me go read the thread. Get through the first few pages and everybody apparently thinks they’re ebert & fucking roeper. Can’t imagine taking things that seriously. Team wes tegg IrishLAX2
Haven’t read the thread for spoiler reasons. Just here to brain dump a little. About half way through season 3. I like this show a lot. I hated Brody in homeland, so I wanted to hate Axe to start. Fuck Chuck. Wags is the best character by a large margin. Taylor and Birbiglia hooking up is sure something. Orin with a beard >>> Orin without. Team Connerty.
Early on in season 4. Just watched the Chicken Bill episode last night. Not reading the thread for spoilers and apparently bad opinions but: Wags is the best Chuck Sr. is a perfect senile douche old man (love the scene when he's on the phone and they casually throw in a semi-blurred dime piece in lingerie in the background) Axe's team of specialized people are awesome. Everyone from the lawyer to nova scotia, the 2 ex-mil guys when he was under investigation, etc Ben Kim, Dollar Bill, and Mafee are all fantastic characters and acted really well Kinda meh on John Malkovich + Taylor at the moment. I liked Taylor's character a lot early on and I think their personality has gotten a little annoying at this point
Of the big three, Wendy is the most interesting/best to me. Chuck is beyond redeeming and they’ve kind of lost their edge with Axe. There’s only so many engaging story lines you can write about a guys who plays the “I’m worth 10 billion” card, successfully, every time.
Dan Soder standup came on an XM channel the other day and I was like this sounds like Mafee. It certainly was and it seems like a lot of that character comes from Soder. Top tier character IMO.
