His rhetoric isn't entirely harmless, but as long as he continues to vote properly I'm not going to lose much sleep over it. Hell, it could help cement him as a "moderate" and gain Biden votes in the general in PA.
Educate me on how banning non-competes reduces healthcare costs. Are people sticking with jobs with shittier healthcare coverage (and thus maybe not seeing doctors regularly and catch things early) because they're afraid to even lose this in order to try to find a job with better benefits? Either way, this is for every single employed person in the US that currently works under a non-compete contract right?
More mobile workforce demanding better benefits? I wouldn’t count on it being a significant enough factor to offset the system’s flaws though.
I was thinking on physician side but I can’t fully piece together the economics. I know most specialty trained physicians have non compete agreements that limit them being able to start their own practices outside the larger system.
That makes more sense than just people paying higher premiums than if they could find jobs they can't currently under a noncompete.
can't wait to see chuds caping up for the sanctity of contracts between an employee and their mega-corp employer!
if your hospital is a non-profit, I don't think it applies. Because non-profits are exempt under the FTC Act
I’ve had to threaten to enforce noncompetes before which was annoying since we had no intention of ever enforcing them and for sure would have lost in my opinion if it went to court.
Mine had a buyout of (I think) 200k which probably helped with the enforceability should I have chosen to violate it
The latter, never good when the lawyer reviewing your contract says "this is the most one sided contract I have ever seen." That's what you get when you get a friend to review the contract and you were excited for your first job out of fellowship and being in a cool city

Might hit up all the companies that I’ve had to say no to because of a non-compete out of spite to my current employer
I’m not a Biden fan by any means but this alone shows a fundamental difference. Biden helps abolish the non-compete. If it were up to Trump non-competes would be mandatory. Hyperbole off the charts from you
