Seems pretty simple to me but maybe I'm missing something. The protests are fine when it's about Israel and what the country is doing. When it turns to Judaism or Jewish students, that's fucked up.
I think its very possible that most of the protestors are just antisemitists that don’t really care about Palestinians and are just using this as an opportunity to spout their nonsense
I was aware of "the protests" and was trying to see if there was more (again, specifically) that I had missed... (There was not it would seem) I think the way the WH chose to respond (and the timing of it) plays into disingenuous framing and is disappointing.
In this whole process I've found it fascinating how other entities are more powerful than God/Allah or whoever else when things supposedly get real. It seems entirely the opposite of everything that's espoused in their particular religions. I also find it fascinating how when devestating events happened in biblical times they were tied into the lack of faith among the people in question. Did the Israelis lose their way with regard to the Torah and that resulted in the massive casualties from the Hamas attack? Did the people in Palestine not have enough faith in Allah and has that lack of faith resulted in however many casualties? Those questions are obviously cynical as fuck but I find the lack of faith sad.
Truman I don’t compliment people usually but I have to say you consistently articulate the most nuanced and developed point of views on complex issues on this board. I’m sure it isn’t a coincidence you read like five books a week. All that to say roll tide.
So many of the Israeli citizens are secular as well, this is just good old fashion racism and settling.
My underlying point is that a lot Orthodox Jews don't view Israel as a legitimate state either because of their faith, so if anything the more religious ones are peaceful. Truman has talked more in length about this.

I might consider actually serving in the military if we gathered all the corporate level folks for businesses responsible for superfund sites, let every affected person tell them and their families stories as each corporate guy had a ticker of how much their personal assets grew over their time in the company, and let the survivors do whatever they wanted to to them on tv. Then redistribute all their families and extended families' wealths
