I haven't played since the update. Saw enough videos and heard from enough friends to not waste my time.
I wasn't in when Wake was first out but first impressions are not good. Could be the balance on how they rolled this out too and balance with vehicles but I think it sucks. Also not one to pile on but the last update might be the worst of all time in any game I can ever remember. There may have been another one that completely ruined a game that I forgot about. It's a joke before you even get into the TTK discussion. So bad.
I go to the carbines, type 100, Kar and stg Everything else was butchered And the spotting is the worst of it
type 100 is the only weapon I can use now as a medic. Extremely difficult to get kills with the Suomi and M1928A
Well the proposed "hotfix" looks like a half-assed attempt at appeasing the community without fully reverting to 5.0 values. They can tweak damage values all they want but the game will still suck if there is no recoil and every shot hits its target. Also, it was discovered they added a snap style aim assist without ever putting it in the patch notes. (because they knew what the response would be) So if your normally placed headshots are turning into center mass shots, you now know why. You can turn this off ONLY on the main menu settings page.
Anyone still playing? I tried one game on Wake around Christmas and it was just sad. DICE is back from their break and what their community manager is saying isn't encouraging. No word from devs yet. I'm sure they'll just act like everything is fine.
I'll hop on when my brother asks me to play. Playtime consists of bitching about the TTK, inability to kill tanks as another tank or infantryman, getting outgunned by the new medic gun, or trolling our own teammates
I usually play the weekly challenge, Max it out then wait until next Thursday. Finished this weeks about an hour ago, usually takes me two days. They have a mode this week called outpost which is dumber than shit.
"For many of you here, the biggest change of the Chapter came in the form of our recent Weapon Balancing. We improved the experience that players have when they are being engaged at long distances," Welp so long BF series. And they won't remove the auto snap aim on console.
Expect they are going to change the wrong values... It's all gonna feel like ass compared to 5.0 since there is no longer recoil plus the addition of auto snap. damage/recoil/spread should be the focus but they don't want a challenging game.
The problem lies in the "30 Meters is a long-distance engagement." That is basically the diameter of a cap point.
And new weapons can only be earned through chapter rewards. If you don't earn them during the chapter then you have to wait weeks after the chapter ends. Are they trying to kill this game? I'm sure a ton of players only stuck around to get the weekly rewards.
I miss pre-5.2, when you didn't have to land 8 body shots to kill someone. I made too many game clips. Here are some good Marita ones.
Supposedly they are going to move the values back to 5.0, but I'm not holding my breath. Unbelievable they would make those changes before Christmas and leave the game in such a bad state for months. Dice has lost a step.
I've said it before, but BF4 hardcore mode was basically the perfect online shooter. BF3 was decent, and Bad Company 2 was the shit
Step in the right direction. I'd prefer a full revert to 5.0, but I'll at least try this update out. Things I wish were addressed: auto snap aim, team balance, and spotting reductions. Also hope the Garand gets its old ROF back.
Uninstalled this shit and sadly I don't see myself going back. I wish they wouldn't have given up on firestorm
Game is in such a sad state that I log in solely to team kill and grief. No enjoyment elsewhere. TTK aside, things like the spotting system and team balance are terrible.
Played with 8 of my friends who haven't picked up the game since this whole debacle started. We had a blast. Solomon Islands is a fun map and a majority of the new guns are good. Lunge Mine kills are very satisfying.
Fired it up again and played a few games this morning. Had one of the games of my life on Operation Metro with the M1907 SF, went 61-17. That gun might be too good, it's like a buzzsaw. Pulled off a really good triple.
Sounds like Battlefield V is officially dead. Only one more update on that horizon, DICE has abandoned ship. I think I'm done with the Battlefield franchise after this. I really love this game, but the sheer incompetence from EA and DICE at almost every step of this game's lifespan makes me feel like this clusterfuck won't be isolated to this title.
