I agree, saw the clips online and I felt the execution of the segment was pretty bad. And if that continues this could go south very quickly. But this segment is giving AEW the most main stream press and it’s about the actual on screen action. So props for that.

The execution Wednesday I didn't think was too bad, but if they play their cards right this could be very good for them long term. They've needed a big storyline to bring in interest and investment into the product. The Bucks killing Kenny next week in Winnipeg and taking over AEW while Tony is "out" could lead to some good civil war shit. Tons of possibilities. Will be interesting to see if this was only done for the draft or if they have a long term plan behind. I'm worried they'll botch it, but hope they nail it. The ratings Wednesday are whatever, it was live coast to coast and the playoffs are ongoing. This storyline could boost them back up some, we'll see.

Well he made a good attempt. Giggling while you turn your neck in a neck brace isn’t a great job but I applaud the effort.
I found the execution was successful even though TK's selling was rough, but he's not a wrestler so that's not particularly surprising. It would have been better executed if there had been someone competent on the mic to talk with Perry, but TK is not remotely close to being that guy. It got the crowd reaction they wanted, I assume. And it will get the Elite and especially Jack Perry over in some capacity, rather that ends up being heat as normal heels or over as nWo/anti-hero style heels. The angle was all the buzz inside the wrestling bubble, and has people speculating/wondering where this is all heading. That means people are invested and interested in seeing where this is going, which is exactly what you want - giving people a reason to want to watch. It got a bunch of attention outside of the wrestling bubble with the NFL media and the NFL itself covering it. I don't think people realize how hard it is for someone not named WWE to get covered outside of the wrestling bubble on a national scale without it being a scandal.
This thread encompasses everything I feel about pro wrestling. It’s corny, badly written at times and overall does nothing. At this same time i absolutely love the absurdity of it and can’t stop checking in.
Biggest problem to me with Kahn wearing the brace comes the next time this move is done, it will get kicked out of into a completely different finisher that will get kicked out of.

eh last year this time they had similar circumstances with the 5 PM west coast start and up against a Laker playoff game and US soccer game and the ratings didn’t budge at all.
