Glad we were able to put in a good performance for Arsene’s last home game. Also, I’m all for letting Mesut rest for the remainder of the season. No need to have him play in meaningless games considering he’s gonna play a ton at the World Cup this summer.
I'm assuredly in the minority here, but it got a little dusty at my house as I stood and applauded Arsene on my TV. Also, I realize that my life feels empty because I don't own a sterling silver Arsenal cannon. I mean to correct that oversight this week.
I agree. With the world cup and all that shit it's certainly going to take some time for players to be evaluated in different positions. Nothing about Arsene makes me dusty. Still love the man but it's like a fat chick wearing spandex. Shelf life has expired.
I mean Arsene did many great things for Arsenal and he should be celebrated for it. Him being there and doing a less than great job the last many years are on the people who didnt fire him.
Definitely got a little dusty. Sadly, it didn’t end the way we all wanted but the man will always be a legend. Need to name the Stadium after him.
nothing but respect for Wenger. on top of being the greatest manager in the history of Arsenal he seems to be just a wonderful man.
I’m sure Wenger is a wonderful man. I wish he had hung it up before, but its hard to admit that you dont have what it takes. I’m sure i would have done the same.
Everyone that has ever achieved any greatness has huge self-belief. As you said, it's also on the people that let him stay too long. I will believe until my dying day that David Dein was the perfect balance for Arsene, and him leaving the club was the beginning of the end for Arsene.
and as i said i understand. but the memory of him would be so much better had he stopped 5 years ago. i know its easy for me to say now. at least this thread will serve as a good reminder that i called for this 5 years ago. But theres a billion layers to this discussion. best case he hangs it up 5 or so seasons ago. next worst thing someone fires him 5 or so seasons ago. We got the worst case no one did anything. lets hope for glory under our next manager.
I wish the man well and hope he has a fine bottle of wine with Giroud at some picturesque chateau soon.
Apparently nobody in Italy knows what Allegri is going to do, that can only bode well for us. I saw someone in Monaco’s front office said Jardim wouldn’t be leaving but who knows.
I just keep seeing Enrique who feels like a disaster in the making. Ancellotti would be uninspired for me as well.
Oh god please not Enrique Ancellotti at least has had success in the league and would instantly command respect but yeah I agree a bit uninspired
