Hot take - theres not a whole lot you can learn from spring ball. Does anyone get bad reports out of spring camp? Does a glorified scrimmage to a 7 on 7 game teach you anything ? For Mizzou - they return the entire offense except RB, LT ,LG. They did well in the portal to address those spots. Defense - they replace a lot, but also have nice depth w back ups from last year and portal guys. That side of the ball is going to be the bigger question. As I said above , i dont think spring answered any questions good or bad. Fall camp probably won’t either. Only the games will tell. Luckily, Mizzou has a pretty light schedule to start the year for them to figure it out
My prediction for defense was more so based on last year and returning players. Shouldn’t have added that my post. You can definitely learn things about individual player’s skill and athleticism from spring ball though.
They have always been pointless and dumb, but we’re all probably about to have real games against other schools in the spring to make more money.
Our game was 1 O vs. 1 D and 2 D vs. 2 O. Final score was 20-20 and actually felt like a decent game. Was pretty fun to watch.
Our first team beat the shit out of our 2nd/3rd teams only time they’ll have that feeling in their career
Legit question was Princely U a spring star? Just need a few FSU fans who obsessively watched our spring to point out all the flaws.
I watched the Tennessee spring game and about half way through had no idea what team was Team Orange and what team Team White. Guy in white scores, points went to Orange. Chaos.
Our spring game was the first time I was excited watching the offense in years. We may only win 4/5 games this year but I think it’ll at least be fun to watch.
I still said we’re not going to win…just the offense will be more fun to watch as opposed to Rogers checking down to a RB every other play.
Tell us about this defense? Honestly asking. Must have been a lot of good players on your DL. Sounds like McLeod has fit in well at UGA. Staff decided against taking a portal DL partially because of his development.
McLeod was definitely a loss. Doubly so bc he basically left bc our team sucked lol. But our DL has lots of veteran quality players, and returns everyone who played last year. We were decent great against the run for most of the year. And that was without McLeod as he didn’t play at all I think. We added some large veteran players to that group so it will have more depth. Which is needed if our offense is a 3 and out machine like it was last year. Safety play improved a lot once we settled certain players at their best position. That group also played well at the end of the year. We need a pass rusher and we need better corners. Dylan Stewart at DE is athletic af but a freshman. Will he be ready to contribute this season? If he’s not will he stick around SCar to develop or hit the portal? Vicari Swain looks more athletic and faster at CB than his predecessor and our other starting CB but will he be ready for being a full time starter as a redshirt freshman? Prob not. We return 2 out of our best 3 linebackers. They also played well last year. The one who left stings, but he wasn’t all conference or anything. We replaced him with a portal guy who looks much faster, but idk if he will be an overall improvement. If you have a really good passing game, you’ll probably be able to score on us pretty well, but maybe not as well as last year.
Hogs QB is bug and fast. He can’t throw tho o line will probably be improved from the worst line ever at the school to wet dogshit If they beat Oklahoma state maybe they’ll make the Texas bowl. If not titty will be fired during the season Eat Arby’s
How different is that from KJ Jefferson? Honest question since I think I've only seen KJ play in like one or two games.
I just remembered it looked like KJ blew out his knee in the last game against Mizzou. DO the slaw guys know exactly what the injury was? Looked pretty bad.
Inshallah... https://flywareagle.com/posts/big-ten-definitely-have-texas-school-2026 According to longtime college football radio host Greg Swaim's B1G source in Chicago, the Big Ten will have a school from the state of Texas by the 2026 season -- and his hunch is that Texas A&M will be the university making that jump. "Received an e-mail 10 minutes ago from our Chicago B1G source, that said 'The B1G will definitely have a Texas school by 2026,'" Swaim prefaced before saying, "As we reported months ago, TAMU and the B10 have been having serious third party talks for over six months." This is consistent with Swaim's previous reporting from his Chicago source that Texas A&M (and Notre Dame) would join the B1G sometime down the road. "Who are the next two teams to join the B1G and make it the Big 20? Our terrific Chicago source tells us that he's hearing it'll very likely be Notre Dame (who has a perpetual invite) and TAMU, as the B1G wants to get into Texas and the Aggies are very unhappy with the addition of the Longhorns (duh?)," Swaim prefaced before saying, "Once again he reiterates there will not be any invites to non-AAU member teams, so doesn't believe FSU nor Clemson will get invitations. "Certainly not expecting it soon, but the TAMU to the B1G rumor does have legs. More money, no Longhorns and Aggies being told if they make this move will have veto power if Texas tries to move again." Texas A&M and Texas are only Lone Star State options to qualify for Big Ten membership Texas A&M and the University of Texas at Austin are the only two Lone Star State schools with AAU accreditation; meaning that the two Lone Star Showdown programs are the only schools eligible for Big Ten membership. With Texas joining the SEC for the 2024-25 academic calendar, it's nearly impossible projecting them to leave the conference after just two seasons in the "It Just Means More" conference. Nothing would be more damning to the SEC's reputation than losing a potential pillar to the B1G after just two years. Since Oklahoma doesn't have AAU accreditation, the odds of UT leaving the SEC are almost certainly slim to none. But Texas A&M? They may be looking to leave because of Texas' presence in their conference. TAMU left the Big 12 to be the state of Texas' representative in the SEC to get a leg up in recruiting, so the Longhorns following them in 2024 is something that can have the Aggies considering another conference jump.
Would be so great if TAMU left the conference without us ever playing in College Station despite them being in the same league for over a decade.
