I think gasley has been better in races. That qualy record is surprising

 

Ocon finished ahead of Gasly in 2 out of 3 races they both finished this season. In general Ocon has been better, though Gasly has had some setup, gearbox, etc. issues. If we are applying Tsunoda vs Ricciardo logic though, Gasly sucks.

 

Rain during SQ really upset the sprint grid order

Sergio is a wheel to wheel master. You need Sainz or Russell for that kind of calamity.

 

I was impressed with Norris being able to go from 1st to 7th without taking anyone out.

 

Maybe I’m just not familiar enough with the track, but it seems like pole/odd line on the grid is opposite where it ought to be given turn 1.

 

That’s what I thought too, but maybe it’s always that way and just better starts.

 

Pole is on the racing/clean part of the track. Also outside of turn one ends up as the inside of T2 real quick.

 

Lando just had such a shit start during the sprint that it looked like a disadvantage. Ideally the pole position can poke out front and choose their line into turn 1.

Yup. Someone had an issue last year with a sponsor too. Donut racing has an interesting YouTube video on some of the sketchy sponsorships in formula
