Also Prospector F1TV Pro broadcast > Sky. I went from all ESPN/Sky to F1TV Fri/Sat and Sky Sunday to Just Turing on Sky for prerace/gridwalk on Sundays then switching to F1TV to now just staying on F1TV all the time. Worth $85.
Seems like Sainz isn’t passing Alonso on purpose because if he does it makes him vulnerable to Perez. He’ll wait and do it late
just signed in. looks like they are bunched up what have I missed now that I'm paying for a fucking ap
Max is an alien. It's just amazing to watch someone do a job that they are so obviously world class at. Yeah it's not been boring at all. If someone doesn't pass someone for a lap or two people like to complain around here.
Russell having as much pace on the softs for the whole sprint is interesting and will get a look from the teams I'd think. Possibly opens up some interesting tire strategies for the GP.
He said he likes this year's version of the sprint races better than last year but he wished they didn't select the Chinese GP as one of the sprint weekends because they haven't raced here in years. Not really a complaint moreso a preference it seems
Didn’t see any more fires, no they have a set allotment of tires for the weekend. Some drivers used a set of used tires today to save a fresh set for Sunday
The sprint being before qualifications. If I remember last year it was backwards/or sprint grid was also the GP grid.
I think it used to be P1/quali on Friday, sprint quali and sprint Saturday and then race on Sunday. but you know just google it if you care enough.
Last year it was Friday FP1 Grand Prix Quali Saturday Sprint Quali Sprint Sunday Grand Prix the problem was that following the Grand Prix Quali on Friday the cars were in Parc Ferme the rest of the weekend (which means you can’t make set up changes). This meant that the Sprint would be very similar results to the Grand Prix with race pace, etc. This year with Grand Prix Quali after the sprint teams can make set up changes after the sprint based on the data from those 19 laps to try to do things better in the Grand Prix
The difference in cars is so laughable. That racing from 3-6 or whatever it was was great but p1 being a forgone conclusion really sucks unless you're a Max homer. 13 second gap in 9 laps lol.
Max will win, but that gap isn’t representative. The next three fastest cars were all stuck behind Alonso. That Mercedes is a dog.
i'm feeling like this track will put some people out though. i'm hoping gravel pit and rain gets some top dogs down this weekend to spice things up.
Qualifying Battle 2024 Verstappen 5 - 0 Perez Hamilton 1 - 4 Russell Leclerc 2 - 2 Sainz Norris 4 - 1 Piastri Alonso 4 - 1 Stroll Gasly 0 - 5 Ocon Albon 4 - 0 Sargeant Tsunoda 4 - 1 Ricciardo Bottas 5 - 0 Zhou Hulkenberg 3 - 2 Magnussen
Didn't realize Ocon was dominating Gasly like that this year Not surprised by Albon-Sargeant, Bottas-Zhou, or Max-Checo. Mildly surprised Stroll got 1 on Fernando.
