That game is like the Clemson loss for me. Even if there were a ton of great plays made, I do not want to watch a second of them.
Or the playcalling right before it; i understand they didn't want to take a sack, but also seemed like there were just good to go with the FG attempt once Stroud ran to that part of the field
The fumble six against Clemson is one of the worst blown calls in CFB history. The fact that they called it correctly on the field and overturned it is unfathomable
Day needs to be more like Urban and not even attempt long fg's. Just go for it on 4th downs in that territory unless it's 4th and 10+ yards.
I mean, we've tried 4 since he's been HC of 50+. Made one in 2019. 2 of the other 3 were misses as time expired either at the end of a game or end of a half. There is nothing that needs to be changed there.
The FG attempt at the end of the first half in the Michigan game from last season might be the dumbest in-game decision Day has made here.
The dumb decision was clock management. We had to kick the FG from 52 because there were only three seconds left.
Did we run clock and settle for it? I vaguely remember that might have happened but ESPN's play-by-play on their site for that drive is all messed up and I'm not gonna watch a replay of it.
I remember the clock management being poor and knowing that there was a 0% chance that FG was going to be good. A Hail Mary(or literally any other offensive play) would have been a better option for trying to get points.
One of my daughter’s roommates at UC is the daughter of a professor there. He told them that UC is projecting a 2024 freshman class that will be 10% bigger than 2023 (which was 10% bigger than 2022). Aparently, UC’s goal by 5-7 years is to have 50,000 undergrads, which is roughly the size of OSU and would put UC in the top 10 nationally.
Thanks herb.burdette , now I’m pissed off You also never responded the other day to my post when you were trying to shit on the JJ hype O/U Garrett Wilson’s freshman stats for JJ this season?
Over It was 4th and short from near the 35 with around 30 seconds, Day turtled up and took the FG. Made the first easily but Michigan called timeout to add to the fun
I hope Day does a better job of resting starters earlier in our blowout wins. Get Sayin in there and let him throw it.
Ticket pricing and availability are going to be insane this year. In 2022, there was a ND and Michigan split that spread demand for single games. This year, Iowa or Nebraska are a toss up for the second best home game. The ticket office is offering Akron, WMU, Marshall, Purdue and Indiana for $289 total, $57.80 a game.
I was curious what Chip's philosophy on that might be so I looked at UCLA's schedule last season. First blowout win they had was against North Carolina Central. UCLA played 3 QBs and they threw the ball a total of 17 times. I didn't love that so I checked 2022 and against Alabama State, UCLA's backup actually threw more than their starter. DTR threw just 11 passes in the 45-7 win but their backup, Garbers, threw 18 passes. Last time I remember a backup of ours getting close to that would probably be Tathan back in 2018 against Rutgers.
I think you need the starters to come out of the lockeroom at half and take the 3Q drive, but after that in a 28 point game, clear the benches.
Traveling to NE Ohio this weekend to see my friend from college. Going to an event at a brewery I’ve never heard of in a town I’ve never heard of. https://www.birdfishbrew.com/special-events/2023/4/20/the-big-lebrewski-festival-2023-nfx7t
Apple Maps says it’s not far from East Palestine so at least that beer is made with the freshest of waters
Potbelly for dinner. Haven’t ate since breakfast which was small, got 3 bigs and 2 bowls of Mac for 2 people. Dude asks if buying for a family, nope. Do have a leftover big meatball and some mac left
If you’re feeling adventurous, this place is about 15 minutes away. Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. Their iced blueberry is ridiculous, they ship them all over the country. https://whitehousefruitfarm.com/our-donuts/
Anybody doing this Upper Deck golf at The Shoe this weekend? yankeye and I are doing it on Sunday with a couple bruhs.
I scored my only TD ever against Columbiana as a 7th grade fullback. I spiked the ball, got flagged, and got benched. At the time, it was a terrible decision that I immediately regretted. But I didn’t know it would be my only TD, so now I don’t regret it.
I’m going to put in about 72 hours of straight yard work this weekend, and hopefully get a sunburn on the bald spot on the top of my head.
Kid is resilient. The odds of him making the 53-man roster are slim to none, but I will give him props for getting a minicamp invite.
