So wait, we never created a new thread for last year? We just used the same thread from the previous year? If so, that was such a terrible decision. Zero reason we should have ever kept a thread that included a Michigan loss.
Also, burn that thread. I had some HOT TAKES after that second Michigan loss. As I mentioned recently, that was a low point for me.
Day spoke about how it’s nice to bring three different players to this event: wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., tight end Cade Stover and defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau. Harrison is from Philly, Stover is from a rural Ohio and Tuimoloau is from Seattle and has a Polynesian background. When asked about the quarterback position, Day said he’s been very surprised with Lincoln Kienholz’s approach. He noted that the environment hasn’t been “too big” for the true freshman. Day added that Tristan Gebbia has contributed to the depth under center and has served as a pseudo-coach. Day talked about the new-look offensive line, which could include San Diego State transfer Josh “Jimmy” Simmons and a slimmed-down Josh Fryar among others. Day is confident in the group’s growth. Day discussed taking a bigger-picture approach. He said it’s important to not get too wrapped up in the offense once the season gets going. That’s why it’s key for Brian Hartline heading the offense, he said. Day said that the Buckeyes have been working hard to avoid a scenario where matchup games are decided by explosive plays they’ve given up defensively. He said it’s a “motivating factor” to make right on what happened versus Michigan and Georgia. Day is focused on putting the right players in the right places. When asked if he’d play both quarterbacks in games early season, Day said he’d really like to have a player emerge at the position in fall camp. That’s the goal. But he didn’t rule out the possibility of trying out each quarterback in the regular season.
The QB needs to be solved by Western Kentucky bc if we fuck around that game they're dangerous with how they throw the ball
Just moved to Chicago and watched this at the ohio state alumni bar in Lincoln Park. Jack Sullivans was a great place to party.
There is a decent chance we get an unbeaten and ranked opponent in 4 of 5 games in midseason. 9/23 ND (Navy, Tenn St, at NC St, CMU) 10/7 MD (Townson, Charlotte, VA, at MSU, Ind.) 10/14 Purdue 10/21 Penn State (WVU, Del, at Ill, Iowa, at NW, UMass) 10/28 Wisconsin (Buff, @WSU, Ga So, @Purdue, Rutgers, Iowa, at Ill).
If we get this Nigel Glover kid we're gonna have to process one more. Hopefully it's the Michael Myers of this roster, Trey LeRoux.
I don't know that he ever had a real shot here to play. At least he has a scholarship to finish at OSU and get the treatment he needs.
Feels very good to be the swinging dick in the premier conference in the country with the Pac 12 dissolving and I'm sure the ACC right behind.
