So we draft all these luxury offense positions just to totally waste their rookie contracts and another year by a qb who won’t play for years
I know mocks mean nothing but I mean I saw this guy outside the first round entirely more frequently than I saw him top 10. This is ridiculous. We got fantasy football managers running this franchise
I like penix, but 8 seems crazy. Praying this is an Aaron Rodgers/jordan love situation and I’m wrong, but there were so many players at need positions
This has been our thing like 75% of the time the last 4-5 years. Trading up or not trading back and then taking somebody who 100% would've been available later.
23 year old rookie whose going to burn his rookie contract sitting behind Cousins while all of our other rookie contract offensive pieces age out
I was going to make a joke earlier today about screwing up the draft and taking Penix. It was the most unlikely pick I could think of.
So excited to get a QB that you tamper and lose draft picks, then sign him to 100 million guaranteed, then draft a QB who you probably could have traded down to get and who'll be 26-27 and 2-3 years away from free agency when your 100 million is done.
First you have to sign a vet to a $180M four year deal, and THEN draft a QB instead of addressing literally any other area of need. Flaconing
The only thing I can think is that the aren't trusting Cousins to be healthy for long, but fuck me trade back and take him.
23 isn’t that old. Not worried about that. Kirk is here for 2 years tops. We’ll have a rookie qb contract when it’s time to pay those other players. I like the concept of the pick, just not where it happened. Apparently McVay and Peyton wanted him, so I don’t think we could have gone back far though
Yeah the Kirk contract isn't an issue and mostly been blown away out of proportion. All the money will be freed by the time most the young guys are up for a contract. Pick still blows my mind.
Right I assumed there was a lot of commotion by the next couple of teams to pick him and we didn't want to let that happen, but God damn we need some defense first.
These kind of shenanigans are why I embrace the tank. #1 overall maybe the only pick I trust for us. Even then, you know we'd find Jamarcus Russell
