Saw a complaint where on PC you can’t walk with the stratagem being called in because they’re binded to the WASD. So binding them to the arrows and letting go of the mouse works to keep movement while calling it in. however, I have the stratagem binded to a mouse button so I need to rethink things
The only genres that you can legitimately say this statement about are sports games and RPGs. All FPS games are great on KBM, this one included
I use the Razer Tartarus V2 keyboard for gaming. Can't recommend that thing enough since it has a 4-way thumbstick that you can bind 4 things to. Can do so much more when your left thumb accounts for those 4 actions + a small space bar below the thumbstick. Between using that and the Logitech G502 there's so many keybind options. I use the small spacebar for stratagems
The only thing that's pretty annoying in it is that some games tend to not have a "cycle weapons" function for KBM. This one doesn't and so you have to bind your 3 guns to 3 different buttons, which I don't really like doing. There could be some improvements made due to a lot of "button sharing" in this game with the map > combat > stratagem > comms controls all having a lot of overlap. There's just a "higher learning curve" I'd say for this game on KBM compared to a lot of your popular FPS games, battle royales in particular. This game just has a shit load of controls. And TBH there's like 20+ key bind options that I honestly don't think do a fucking thing. The setup screen is very convoluted with commands that are redundant in the combat section. I can see that being a complaint factor. But once you get a good setup with your binds, it's easy peasy and no different than any other FPS
also Re: too many controls. Very possible that using a standard keyboard and a mouse that doesn't have extra buttons, I could definitely see it being a thing that there's just too many commands you use regularly that you can't bind in convenient places.
I've come around to realizing smoke grenades are a must against automatons. That can't hit shit when you throw one.
still getting the no XP glitch after missions at a 1/3 clip. very offputting to waste 35-40 minutes and not get shit
I have had that issue once. I restarted the game that session after it happened and didn’t run into it again. Not sure if that was luck.
Sent out some friend requests to anyone that's posted their number in the past couple pages if I missed you pretty sure this number still works for me
getting about 1200 xp per 5m speed running the kill 275 bugs missions on Helldive difficulty. Mortars keep everything dying. Just have to kite titans/chargers if they get on you.
Lazer Orbital may be the best defense I've seen against those bile bitches. Anyone else have a preference lmk, it's hard to do a lot of experimenting when you only get to throw 1, maybe 2 of a stratagem per game. Laser has done some decent roasting though
Laser is nice but I quit using it. Rail cannon smokes the bile titans. I've been using the orbital cannon strike and the the airburst. Throwing an airburst on top of a breach can get 30-50 kills.
outside of shield and railgun I don't have automations figured out. Can smoke bugs all day but tryin to storm an auto base with turrets and tanks is ridiculous several levels lower on difficulty
All I play is automatons. Did an extreme bug world yesterday for the first time and it was chaos. Those chargers and bile spewers are insane
My group has the bugs down. We run impossible with ease on the bugs. We try impossible with automatons and things get out of hand.
Railgun Shield Orbital Laser Eagle Airstrike Good to go. Eagle Airstrike so good at clearing nests I rarely have to throw grenades any more.
Anyone else get a weird glitch where you couldn’t use your primary or secondary weapon? Only strategems and support weapons? Luckily I had stamina booster on so I just ran like hell.
The meta was too strong in my opinion. I was running railgun & shield generator when grouping with randoms, until I could see how they played. I think for the longevity of the game, balance is fine. They did buff a lot of weapons which is good. The railgun was very strong, but it sounds like the hit was pretty big.
Shield generator was whatever. I never ran it anyway. But the railgun getting hit so hard is rough. Not sure how else they expect us to take down the 12 chargers and 3 bile titans that get thrown at us every other minute.
People are saying you just have to turn off the safe mode for the railgun? I never knew such a thing existed.
Hate they did anything to the railgun. It's not really OP considering you have to reload every shot and ammo is almost always an issue. Laser Cannon may be useful now. Tried it before I was level 20 and it wasn't terrible as long as you manage the charge. Game is hard as fuck now. But considering we were speed running missions on the highest difficulty a couple nights ago I guess it's not a bad thing
They pretty much killed the enjoyment out of the game for me. It's just a running simulator now because you can't take down chargers fast enough before they stockpile on you. Next thing you know you've got 6-7 chargers and a few bile titans roaming around. Maybe I'll revisit down the line but I got my money's worth out of the game.
I joke. But given what I've seen so far from the developers, I bet a hotfix of some sort comes soon that makes the game not-impossible again. Supposedly the mech suits arrive in 2.5 days. But I've also seen comments addressing the problem of too many tanky enemies being a fix that's coming soon
They said today they are going to reduce the spawns of armored enemies. I'd rather they just revert the changes and give us more solutions for armor. I enjoyed the chaos.
I think that's what they were going for when they buffed the non-railgun support weapons. Difficulty ~6 bugs is about where my group is at post-patch for a hard mission. Also just restating that we're supposed to get Mech suits in like 2 days. So I'd hold off on deleting the game considering it sounds like they are literally giving you what you're asking for... assuming those suits are worthless
First level-headed breakdown I've seen and would be nice if the developers took everything in this post and did it.
They failed miserably then. Pretty much nothing is effective against charger armor post patch. The disposable rocket is decent but with all these modifiers messing with strategem cooldowns and call in times that's not really working either. We still completed a set of impossible missions on bugs last night but it wasn't fun at all.
