We are the opposite. I have a Jax Beach office, but work mostly from home & rarely visit. The wife works in San Marco. We rarely leave the Historic District
Another Jax beacher here but might make the move back in town bc a decent house out here is expensive
Yea I’m glad I bought out here in 2015. We’ve since moved into a bigger house, but the initial starter house out here now is just silly expensive. Not sure I’d be able to afford it.
I get the appeal of Jax beach and Avondale. But my kid’s elementary school is a mile away and eventual high school is 2 miles away. That and I can fish in about 15 minutes from House to water with my kayak.
A-Rated public schools, from elementary thru high school, are the only legit reason to live in north St. Johns. Especially non-coastal, out in the middle of nowhere, like most of you guys. We did it, then got the fuck out as soon as last kid graduated from PVH
sounds like our plan too. My dream house is actually on Roscoe road on the water but I’ll never afford that
I’ll get pissed off looking at the beach when a tear down crack house pops up and it’s like $500k. Most anything that wouldn’t make me house broke is trash and my wife and I make decent money. One of my friends bought a house in jax beach in 2018 for $370k. It’s worth $700k now. Nice house for sure but jeez.
Hello, I will be moving back in 4 years. St Augustine Bch doh, but we can still be friends. I can’t go Jax Bch because I don’t want my wife to remember that killrbee7 is real:Tebow:
We bought our current house in 2020, basically same situation. Thankful for my son bullying me into buying a house with a pool. That’s really the only reason we moved at the time.
Hope they increase the taxes in all the surrounding counties to pay for that shit, and Duval isn't footing it alone.
I’m probably in the minority, but I’d be in favor of my taxes raising slightly if it meant that came to fruition.
We’re in St. Augustine Beach for the week. My in laws are planning on going to the Columbia and watch fireworks downtown. You can see the fireworks from my parents house a mile away (and likely from the back side of the 3rd floor condo we’re at) but of course that’s not good enough. I expect this to be an unneeded shit show. I don’t like going into downtown on a random Saturday in February, much less the 4th of July.
Sell them on watching them from the beach & seeing fireworks up & down the coast... fuck going downtown
killrbee7 Had lunch at Vicious today. Got The Vicious and a bloody. It all was very good, but I wished I had added an egg to it (didn’t realize I could do that until after). Really enjoyed the branding and the vibe but had to circle the parking lot a few times for a spot because we came right around noon. Will be back, for sure.
Need all my beach-dwelling locals to check in or I’m going to assume one of you is hoarding that 1.6 billion
Well, if anyone among us hasn’t had enough good things happen to them, you definitely deserved this one. Spoiler for real, congrats on the kiddo
RIP to the absolute worst bar in Five Points After 30 years, Wall Street Deli & Lounge in Five Points to close It decided not to renew its lease after ServStar bought the bar and two more businesses in the Riverside neighborhood for $2 million.
Hey fellas, visiting some family in St Johns area this week. Me and my pops are looking to play some golf. Not looking for a super nice course, but not a dump either. Y’all got any suggestions?
There’s new course in st John’s called Stillwater. Haven’t played it myself but have heard from a few friends that it’s a nice spot.
Nothing like a hurricane to royally fuck my end of month... Asshole sellers threatening to walk if the closing doesn't happen.
Was just searching this story to see if it had been discussed on tmb. Just saw it this morning on espn. $20mm plus before they noticed? Good lord
and the Jags just asked FanDuel to give them $20mm back lol I think the dude had to be money laundering to people through daily fantasy with how bad he was on there. Was in big money games and wouldn’t even set his lineup
