so i'm half way through book 2, but don't wanna venture into that thread since it's got spoilers so i ask here. what the hell are the Arryn's going to do? Lysa is a crazy bitch and the heir, robert, is a pussy, but to have a whole region of the 7 kingdoms not fighting is a big deal. they have to get involved eventually right?
Robert is a sickly little pussy, Lysa is a crazy cunt and afraid, the Eryie is believed to be impregnable so she is content to just sit her happy ass up there and take no part.
really wish Catelyn was more self-loathing about 200 pages left in ACOK but won't be going in that thread till I finish it because I'm sure there will be tons of spoilers
haha ok good then I get it. at first I was sure they were joking, but then the fact that nobody ever really made funny of me or hit a punchline made me wonder.
best part of these books: if you read over an important piece of information, you can count on Martin to repeat that piece of information at least ten times over the next 300 pages
yea i'm almost done with ACOK but i'm too big of a wuss to go in the thread. i hate knowing what's coming.
i still don't get that part of the show. why was pycelle faking a hunched back? also old men don't really bang hookers either, maybe they just cuddled. it just struck as really odd.
I find it a little annoying tbh. I find myself saying "Yeah, I fucking know" during certain tedious POV's (Catelyn and Sansa mostly).
he's playing the game and no one knows it. He acts old so that no one expects anything from him. He's also a shape shifter like wbn mentioned earlier.
About 1/3 the way through book one- loving it, saw the entire 1st season on HBO so I wanted to read at least 1 & 2 but the time the next season starts.
Just purchased the book a couple days ago - I'm about 40-50 pages in and am enjoying it thus far. Did anybody else feel like they were being overloaded with characters right off the bat? How they relate to each other is starting to make sense, but I'm curious how long it takes to come full circle.
into book 3 and i've just told myself to Spoiler quit attaching to characters because they'll probably be dead next chapter
Jesus, I didn't even think to see if the book had appendices. Apparently I was being extremely Polish over the weekend.
Very overwhelming on all the characters and 'Sir's. Until about halfway then based on the location, I could stay with it. I didnt know there was an appendix until I finished the book. Odd to start watching the HBO series now and some characters are nothing like I pictured when reading the book. Just starting Book #2.
Is it ever revealed who was actually down in the dungeons walking past arya? Or am I retarded. I remember one had a blonde beard.
Just finished book one and have the season downloaded but was wondering, should I wait to watch the last episode until I am a decent way into book 2 because I have heard they go a little into book 2 in the season finale.
no, watch the last episode. just a couple small things from book 2, no major plot points that I can remember.
I heard, from canefin, that book 2's ending wasn't as good as 1. Also, how are you liking book 4? I heard that book 4 kind of sucks only because it goes hand in hand with book 5 so you have to wait a while before you get the POV of some characters.
I just finished the prologue of book 2 today. But yeah, I'm going to just grind through the series really quick and start cruising book 2 afterwords.
By far my favorite is Book 3. Book 4 isnt bad. Exactly what you said though, alot of the characters I like most are apparently in book 5.
How did you like Book 2, specifically the ending? I heard the ending wasn't as great as some of the other books.
Honestly I dont remember. Im not one of the people who read them forever ago and then had to wait years for the next book. I finished the second one and was reading the third right away. So its kind of all one big story to me. I dont really recall what happened in which book.
Yeah tore thru book 1 during work in about a week. Gonna have to slow down or ill be in the same boat.
I wish that lard ass would hurry his ass up (while also keeping the quality of the books to a certain standard)
