We’re expecting Duke Miles and RJ Godfrey next week. Looks like we’re going all in on experience for next year
UConn about to run college basketball for however long Dan Hurley is going to be there. Kentucky gave him a Godfather offer, and he didn't even consider it for a second, apparently. We all better hope some NBA team comes through with an even bigger Godfather offer that he'll listen to, or it's going to be rough sailing for the rest of us.
Am I missing something about UConn next year? They lost Clingan, Newton, Castle, Spencer, and maybe Caraban. They look like much more of a top 20 team than a top 5 team.
Meh. Clingan was a top draft prospect coming into 2024, Castle was a big incoming recruit, and Newton and Castle played big minutes and had good years in 2023. I think he’s an excellent coach and runs better sets than any coach in college, but absent some substantial additions, their talent on paper for next year Is just ok. Caraban coming back would help. He’s an ideal stretch 4. Replacing Newton, Spencer, and Clingan is impossible though, particularly Newton and Clingan.
Their roster is far from complete obviously but there’s a pretty massive drop off from Newton to Diarra if he really is their starting point. I don’t think they’ll be able to dominate like they have the last few years.
Yea they brought back Newton Clingan and Karaban this past year, they don't have nearly the same carry over for next season.
Cade Tyson finally announced for UNC yesterday, we've got Omoruyi and Aidoo scheduled for visits this week and seem to be content waiting out Thiero getting his draft feedback
Mahaney to UConn. Really interesting replacement for the Spencer role. He has a ton of talent but also has had a ton of clunker performances in big spots. Not sure he can replicate Spencer’s killer instinct
Lots of momentum on former Tennessee PF Jonas Aidoo and Okie State C Brandon Garrison to Arkansas after visiting here this past weekend.
He plays hard, but I think has torn his ACL each of the last 2 years. I assumed he was done with hoops and just going to spend Angel Reese’s endorsement money.
Aidoo committed and signed with Arkansas hours ago my guy Brandon Garrison decision tomorrow appears to be between Arkansas and Texas. Will be interesting to see if Aidoo coming has an effect on that or not. Their visits crossed over so I would think it was made pretty clear to them. DJ Wagner and Johnell Davis decisions should be coming soon too.
need big Cliff to get out of Tuscaloosa without committing, I say we stop pressuring these young men and let them see all their options yep indeed
no adou either which is surprising because i thought he’s been telling all the teams he’s talking to that he would test the process
Just remembered we play at McKale next year, can’t wait for him to kill us again before killing Arizona
if by “splitting time” you mean Washington would come in when cliff was tired or in foul trouble maybe
yeah those knee injuries in high school really derailed his lower body development, thought he made some good strides last year though and the offensive skill is evident
Washington was ~ 8 minutes a game last year, don't find it unreasonable that he can get to at least 12 or so with another year of development
when you said "splitting time", I was thinking you were meaning something closer to a 50/50 split I don't think you bring in a center on the level of Cliff O unless you plan to give him the vast majority of minutes at the 5.
looking now I didn't realize how many minutes Onyenso played for UK this year, so yeah bad semantics on my part
