The Big Ten and SEC have the chance to do the funniest shit ever when they eventually get out of the GoR/settle.
Wow. What a bunch of fucking cowards! 10-2 in the Big 12 is officially more impressive than 10-2 in the SEC
Took me a sec to recognize Hangman as the new Billy Anyway, here's a true story, Phil S. Hoffman's cousin is a HS drama teacher here in Tallahasee, has been for decades....according to her he showed up to her wedding as Dusty and never broke character Also said Sandy Lyle was basically him playing himself...I fuckin lol'd at that
FSU shouldn’t be either, and without leverage they’ll be forced into whatever terms their future conference desires. Welcome to the big12 or take a deal that pales in comparison to Oregon and Washington’s
Obviously only a handful of people will know anything definitively, but it's unrealistic to believe a school would take those actions and prepare to cut a check for hundreds of millions of dollars without assurances that they'd have a better landing spot afterwards.
Miami doesn't really fit in the B1G or SEC or offer anything that would make you overlook that since they haven't meaningfully achieved anything in nearing 25 years.
When you know you have a landing spot, an endowment totaling in the billions, you don’t have act like uncultured swine.
the big 12 will likely provide some leverage for FSU and Clemson and whoever if an ACC collapse happen, because we will offer them an unequal share higher than our own, whereas the B1G and SEC would be lower than their own. it just depends on which number lands where and how much does FSU etc value being in a P2 the big 12 is highly incentivized to add “brands” (especially ones that we can all beat in football)
There are alot of ACC teams that would fit very well in the B12. Miami to me seems like a perfect fit there. NC State and VT too.
Feels like they may be a better fit for the SEC with the rampant racism, but I'm not sure they need another vandy tier team. Maybe that would finally let them go to a 9 game slate though
I don’t know anything about the inner workings of UNC. But I do know that if a trustee or regent is talking to a recruiting site about this stuff, that trustee/regent is almost certainly a dipshit and the things he is saying are not necessarily representative of the board as a whole.
not just a minority opinion but also probably out of options so trying to drum up public outrage to gain leverage
Yeah, I’m not going to get into if he’s right or not - he might actually be. I think it’s just odd to talk to a recruiting service unless you’re a recruit or a coach. I think it’s a disservice to the university to go fanboy out to the absolute lowest rung of journalism.
Considering they’ve consistently been in contact with FSU & Clemson’s teams…I’m pretty sure. I don’t know how big the team is or how serious they are. Maybe just exploratory. Who knows? That obviously doesn’t mean they’ve come to the same conclusions or have decided to file. But they have had a team working on a possible exit (studying the GoR, contracts, etc…). FTR- I was told they prefer the SEC if they do indeed exit at some point. I’m also still told there is a faction within Clemson who prefer the SEC and still another faction who prefer the B1G (they like the idea of having something different to sell). So no clue where we will land. One contact said we expect to be in the B1G by 2026; another said we expected the SEC (based on good faith conversations) to be the landing spot. So again, who knows? We’ll see how this all plays out. I would expect UNC to leave with Clemson & FSU in the end.
