Midway through season 3 Fuck you Margo you're a miserable cunt and a virgin and you fired a blind lady who was one of smartest non-bot employees at NASA. Good luck finding a scapegoat for giving Russians all our secrets. Really hope that witch hunt reveals everything she's done for her "handler" Fuck everything about Danny. Your face looks like a shovel and you're a bitch. Shocker he's a stalker and a perv creeping on video messages. Getting addicted to adderall and pain killers is on brand for his soap opera bullshit storyline Ellen becoming POTUS and somehow getting the least amount of screen time she's gotten in the series.... cmon Kinda... not upset at all at what happened at the space wedding. play stupid games and such. Cleveland had become too douchey for the story Ed, Dani, Aleida, Kelly, Dev and the rest of the astronauts - you're doing a great job guys. More of you and less Danny Dipshit
I do not think I've ever seen a show drop off more in quality from a season than 2 to 3. 1 to 2 I understand because some writers probably never thought they'd get a chance to make what they write but holy fuck. I forgot Spoiler That Karen Baldwin died because I tried to erase the season from my mind Will watch a bit to see if it can regain some quality
The show really struggled to make the younger characters matter and with the huge time jumps, it becomes difficult to keep the story moving forward in a compelling way. I’ll need interested to see what they do but in 2003 or whatever, Neil Armstrong wasn’t leading a mission to Mars
All caught up. I’m glad Danny’s in space prison. With Karen dead maybe he’ll stop being a psychopath and have something of a comeback story. I won’t be rooting for it, but it seemed to be hinted at in the final two episodes. Fuck his brother though. Def saw that coming… to an extent. Jfc that was a lot of explosive. Ellen coming out / Will scene was great. Molly probably my favorite character start to finish.
Season 3 was definitely a dip but the show was still compelling and enjoyable. Definitely worse drop offs out there, aka heroes. Yup. If they were going to time jump and knew they were going to be killing off main characters, they needed to be grooming replacements for us to invest in.
Watching ep 3 right now. I’m curious where this Miles storyline goes and how it impacts the larger story.
I'll talk to myself ITT. Loved that instead of Gore claiming he invented the internet, his gaff was saying he discovered goldilocks. This show is exceptional about slightly changing these viral world events.
Was a couple of episodes behind with the holidays and travel. Watched the last two yesterday and really enjoyed them. I’m excited to see where they go the rest of the season. This has got to be the final season of Ed (assuming they time jump again) so I’m interested to see what they do there.
Still on episode 5 where they first find Goldilocks. Glad there’s some drama for the season finally because the sending the Russian chick home and Ed acting like a senile old fuck wasn’t doing it for me. didn’t catch the Danielle scene was a flashback until she woke up and kinda had a cruel guilty pleasure moment thinking Danny’s ass had been on solitary Mars confinement for like 20 years
They don't have a character compelling enough to replace him. IMO they need to minimize the time jump because 85 year old Ed just doesn't work.
The show needs shocking deaths so it has stakes. It's a show about fucking space exploration and the race against Russia. If only red shirts died every season, the show wouldn't be nearly as good as it is. The problem is that they have failed at introducing new compelling characters. They flopped hard with Danny and flopped again with the workers.
I think that they're hoping everyone hops on board with Danielle being a "bridge-lead" for the show between Ed and whoever comes next, if the show has that many seasons left in it. This definitely seems like it should be Ed's final season and there's no reason to show him at all once he retires. Obviously I'm behind in the current season but Bob 3 isn't ever going to be a legit main character so they better introduce the next one quick and have a star replacement that people have bought into by end of next season
I don’t know if there are any good characters left in this show. It’s hard to stay invested. Kelly Baldwin brought her damn kid to Mars and then hands him off to be babysat. It’s almost as bad of a storyline as the affair. I get it’s a show and a lot is going to be unrealistic bc of the storyline, but some of the shit they put in the show as side stories are so damn stupid.
I just finished. The finale was great, but the rest of the season really fell flat for me and I struggled to get through it. The cliffhanger didn't pump me up very much this time either. I'm not too optimistic about the future of the show. They need to hit a home run with probably a couple new characters next season and obviously their track record there isn't great. Daniel Stern's character in particular felt especially useless this season.
Didn’t see a thread on it but since this one has Apple+ Space folk in it - anyone tried Constellation? If so how was it?
NPR review I saw said it's basically one of those shows that doesn't make sense until the end because of the "unreliable narrator" theme
Have binged this up to like season 4 episode 3. Does season 4 get any better? It really isn't doing it for me so far. I don't care about the underground smuggling.
