iirc - The soldier's benefits all went to the ex wife that he was estranged from, and the father was lamenting on the fact about how hard off they were financially. So Trump offered to send him a check because that's what popped into his head, then never followed up, because he's a terrible person. Or something along those lines.

Yeah LTs and CPTs are going to skew liberal. The unfortunate part is not enough of them stay in and when you LT Colonel and above it gets more conservative unfortunately The marines are almost all combat arms so that would also explain their Trump support. Those roles tend to skew toward the least educated. It amazes me how many Hispanic infantrymen support trump.
They aren't broke brained. All these people know exactly what they're doing. When your goal is the genocide of Americans you really don't want people pointing that out by associating you with the people you idolize and who's ideology you agree with. That makes your goal harder to reach. We need to stop calling these people dumb and start calling them dangerous.

I remember when I was a youngster in Cub Scouts (this would have been the mid 80s, b/c I'm old as dirt), and it was flag day. Everyone had to pick a flag from a country or state and paint it. I picked East Germany and painted their flag. This being the middle of the Reagan administration, it didn't really go over that well.
