GovX has some good deals on vortex scopes if anyone is looking for them. it's cheaper than on amazon and they usually email coupons out too. I just got a crossfire II
The NRA profits when everyone is afraid that the government is going to enact gun legislation. In their fear, everyone goes out and buys guns and ammo which causes a spike in prices. I think this is what JC was alluding to. Plus, I imagine more people get NRA memberships in this scenario as well. Overall however, I think the NRA does more good than bad for us as gun owners.
True, but I fail to see how the NRA should shoulder the blame for that. The NRA is very important to people like me in non-gun friendly states. If my dues can go to the campaign of some Ohio or NC congressman that counteracts the filthy liberal cunts that NJ sends to DC, then where do I sign?
I got a thing from the NRA the other day and have considered become a member for a long time but the first sentence in their letter was some such thing like this is the scariest time to be an American or your rights have never been under attack like they are today or some other bullshit scare tactic that is patently false. I am all about promotion of gun rights but I didn't join out of spite for their over the top bullshit.
But they continue to push that "everything is the worst this is the scariest you should grip your guns tight rarrrr" rhetoric when it's just not true. And that drives gun and ammo prices through the roof because then everyone thinks the government is going to confiscate all the guns. There's concern to be sure but come the fuck on NRA.
Fuck a nation wide CC unless you mandate training to go a long with it. And he's dead wrong about carrying on military bases. First off, not everyone gets training, I had like 2 hours of training in the Air Force and that was it. Secondly you have a massive amount of young, volatile, quick to escalate kids on military bases. I would bet a paycheck that allowing everyone a base to keep firearms would result in a spike in violence on bases. Do you know how many fucking fights I saw in the dorms in my time in (it was basically high school)? Let's not forget the culture of binge drinking on military bases. Now you want to add firearms in easy reach to the mix? Fucking stupid. You have the Ft. Hood shooting (times 2 with the second time being a solider carrying a gun on base), and what other besides the recruiting stations? Ok we have enough political strife on this board. I'll stop and we can go back to talking about guns and being jealous of burnttatertot
Nope. Alabama and many southern states all you have to do is fill out a form, pay the fee and wait. I hate that set up. I'm ok with nationwide cc as long as it requires mandatory training.
"Training" is required in Florida. That training entails firing 10 rounds downrange with a NRA instructor present. I feel prepared
I agree. I like how Tennessee has it set up with military bases now, or this is at least how we do it in Nashville. Only certain people are authorized to carry the M9 on base, you have to have your CC and have a certain rank.
Nebraska requires an 8 hour class for cc that includes classroom time and ~100 round qualifying from various distances. It's easy as shit to pass but it's something.
Finally making the switch back to 9mm from 45. Just bought an M&P and an Apex trigger because Smith semiauto triggers are dogshit. I feel weird about this and I don't know what to do with my hands.
PSA was running a deal for a VP9 with three mags and night sights for 500 F\S too. They have some insane ammo and gun deals today
If anyone is in the market for a $450-$500 knife it's hard to beat a Hinderer. Picked up my second one today, a Harpoon Fatty, built like a tank.
While I was out of town this weekend my wife did some organizing of my ammunition and accessories. She questioned why I needed 14 magazines for my AR. I just laughed.
Any of you guys familiar with Keshaw and SOG? I'm looking for something similar to my tanto blur but with that snazzy SOG low profile clip. NoleNBlue ?
I haven't seen anything like the SOG low profile clip from another maker. I have a Kershaw blur, but almost always carry my SOG flash II because I don't want it to be obvious that I'm carrying a knife.
Been wanting to pull the trig on a new knife. Really want a spyderco but I'm not seeing many that catch my eye. I need a good steel, something under 3" and reliable.
Update on my search for a CC. My license came really quick (thorough GA background check) and I'm going to get a M&P 9c to keep it as similar to my home defense weapon as possible. Any suggestions for IWB holsters?
Good choice, I have one hidden in the house at all times. I don't conceal carry it but for the guns I do CC I like Galco holsters.
