Been watching coverage of this event for the last hour. It’s pissing me off to hear US officials repeatedly using the catchphrase of “Iran’s disproportionate response” to Israel over and over (coming from Dems), yet for the last several months I have yet to hear a peep about Bibi’s disproportionate response directed ti Gaza.
Yes. This would be a nice scenario. Then from there, it would also be cool if the aggressor stops being aggressive. Imo of course.
Also, isn’t this because if an Israel strike that killed several people? Need to stop cleaning up their messes
yes they killed a bunch of irgc officers that were overseeing the daily rocket attacks into northern Israel
Seems like a lot of folks really want a war for the content or to prove some dumb point on the internet.
Not sure on Iran’s endgame here. There’s no way they thought Israel, especially this Israel’s gov, was going to sit on their thumbs.
Whole lot depends on if launched from Iran, Iraq, Syria, or Lebanon. That whole Iraq invasion is still paying off dividends for Iran.
The idea is this was a retaliation by Iran, Israel can do something in response but must be minor and telegraphed but Iran isn't attacking without provocation. While betting on the Biden admin diplomacy to get things calm. Also maybe murk Bibi
Us diplomacy seems to have made some progress in Israel domestic politics so maybe they can pull it off but also yes can't feel comfortable with so many potential escalation actors involved
I mean it's Tigers I've told him this before that I find his like apolitical war games obsession profoundly unsettling he just takes it on the chin and keeps scouring OSINT Twitter which I have to respect a tiny bit
I mean there are a million different variables at play. No love for elder Bush but talking down Israel from striking Iraq and thus splintering the part Arab coalition was a great diplomatic move.
The hysterics about this fundamentally changing the Middle East is insane. I know it was right before the pandemic but did everyone forget about Iran bombing a US base?
Statistically at least one of you supported ol Dubya trying to fundamentally alter the region and democracy would supposedly break out once Saddam was gone. Pretending that talking Israel down from bombing Iraq was some ho-hum endeavor in 1991 shows incredible arrogance.
dont blame me I voted for McCain in '00 (as in I bought and read his book like an 11yo future serial killer)
