I do think the LBs are in a great spot. We’ve got 4 great ones, and three of them are young. Good young RB and TE. Strong OL. Josh. Just need to get better in other areas.
We had nothing in the intermediate area. Everything was close to the LOS, they creeped up and had 8-9 men near the line often in the 2nd. That shut off the runs and the room the screens/flats/etc had to operate to an extent. Diggs was a no show, Sherfield also had opportunities. Shakir and Kincaid are great going forward. But we need more.
Obviously didn’t watch one snap. But looking at the play by play every so often, with the defense it didn’t matter if we had won, we were stopping Baltimore rush
I mean it sucks, but we weren't getting by the Ravens anyways with that depleted defense. There was some HUGE drops last night....that one long one from Diggs was pretty big....
Sorry the bills couldn’t pick you up, but ain’t that how it always goes. Hoping you are doing okay. Hopefully defense and WRs look a lot different next year. Get younger and maybe that’ll help our health issues. Will take time for a young defense to gel under McDermott, but I think it’ll pay off. Gotta take our medicine and get off some bad contracts. Knox, white, Diggs, von. Get off as many of them as you can.
I want keep Knox and dump the rest......trade Diggs to a contender and pick up a nice draft pick, feel bad for White but he can't stay healthy.
If the Bills can move off Knox, they absolutely should, IMO. same with White. Von and Diggs will be a lot tougher to move off of, but if Beane can get off one of them, that'd be great.
no pressure! also, glad they are embracing getting younger. dive in and turn the roster over to a youth movement. it will pay off if you draft well.
This year we will lose a few great players, we get hit with that big number on Josh's pay this year......
if we draft well, that can eventually turn into a positive. it will get harder to build an elite team, but give me more young players in important roles.
being a missed FG from putting 27 on this KC defense makes me feel a lot differently about Brady, the offense, etc.
Buffalo media making a big deal out of this Diggs interview, but it sounds to me like a guy who (A) wants to stay, but knows (B) it is out of his control and (C) is prepare for the realities of the business. He honestly sounded a bit emotional at times.
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/matth...teresting-things-he-heard-at-2024-nfl-combine 1. When they bury me, my fantasy grave will read: “Here lies Matthew Berry. He believed in Gabe Davis.” It’s been tough sledding these last few years and every time I think I’m out, I get dragged back in. But while I haven’t been able to quit him, yet, it appears the Bills have. Folks I talked to believe it is highly unlikely Buffalo re-signs Davis. What’s interesting to me is that they still very much believe Stefon Diggs is a No. 1 WR and aren’t that worried about the end of the season, where some close missed connections would have made it look a lot different. 2. More Bills. Next year, the expectation is that, after Diggs, the passing game will involve a lot more Dalton Kincaid and James Cook. They really like what they saw down the stretch last year from Khalil Shakir, but they are still likely drafting a WR and Shakir is more likely to be more of a “3” than a “2.”
cap maneuvering is well underway. Bates traded, Edwards re-signed, Poyer and Neal released, Douglas restructured. I am sure there is plenty more to come.
Sad day but totally understandable. What really sucks, is the way this team was built, we should have more to show from it
Hines was cut as well. two things can be true: (1) Hyde / Poyer helped usher in a new era of winning in Buffalo. they anchored consistently good defenses. (2) Neither Hyde or Poyer were superstars prior to coming to Buffalo. They were scouted, developed, and molded by McDermott and company. It is necessary to start that process again in order to make the team younger and better.
