Buddy went to soft opening said good not great and Rome was better. More interested in a la carte anyway
going to a matinee at hudson theater in december then taking a couple people to an early dinner last time we went to keens and it was killer. contemplated quality meats but its more north. thinking minetta tavern or gramercy tavern. can't bring myself to do hawksmoor in the us. any opinions much appreciated, just looking for old school american fare between hudson theater and where we're staying in little italy.
Just had the red hook tavern burger for the first time. Thank you to anyone here who recommended the martini. Best I’ve ever had. The burger was great as well.
I went to Hawksmoor recently with my Dad and enjoyed it, but I’m not sure I would go back if I’m paying. I’ll throw out Estela and Blue Ribbon Brasserie as places that I really enjoy that might fit the bill.
Estela looks the best of all the much appreciated recs but it's probably 10 percent too adventurous for this crowd. Might do it for dinner another night
36 hours in NYC this weekend with no wife or kids. Will be staying in midtown on Friday night, coming from a work trip in downtown on Thursday/Friday and will have all afternoon Friday and all day Saturday. I’ve been to NYC probably 10 or so times so I’ve hit most of the tourist stuff (I think) but what else do you recommend? Plan to visit City Island as one item
Heading to Keen’s for an early dinner before the Rangers game tonight. I haven’t been there in quite awhile. Any recommendations of must order dishes?
martini was solid, didn’t compare to red hook tavern. started with the bacon which was very good. split the burger and the mutton chop, both were fantastic. had the creamed spinach which was also awesome. Rangers won to cap off the night.
Think my final booked meal is going to be minetta tavern Can't bring myself to repeat dinners Doing per se salon as well. My wife the Thomas Keller fangirl insists
Didn't know when reservations opened but checked 5 minutes after midnight est Place is already mostly booked in five minutes. Insanity for this type of spot. NY really is back back
try booking Carbone. We got lucky and got a lunch the last few times we tried but it is the exact second 30 days out with 2 people attempting simultaneously
People are using bots to book the reservations and then reselling them for hundreds of bucks. Pretty fucked up
Anyone been to or heard anything about San Carlo Osteria Piemonte in Soho? Looking for a last minute reservation for Saturday night for 6 people but cancellation is $30 per person.
Le Rock and quality bistro supposed to be good but I can't personally vouch. Adels halal cart supposed to be killer right by there too.
Adele’s is supposed to be great but line is always 100+ people long. Los Tacos No 1 is solid fast casual. Are you looking for anything particular? High-end steak house? Italian? Asian? You’re not far from some good albeit expensive spots.
