Finally bit the bullet and saw Godzilla x Kong - it was as dumb as I thought and worse than I feared. I literally fell asleep 20 minutes from the end and missed most of the final battle.
This should be fucking hilarious. Agree about his writing, but his over the top snarkiness should make for great content on this topic.
It's getting a bunch of physical releases 5/1 in Japan. Hopefully one of them will have English subtitles.
Rewatched this last night and was reminded how great it is. It really speaks to the talent of Elmore Leonard that like four of his stories have been made into perfect movies/shows. I’d forgotten how good everyone is in this top to bottom
I really enjoyed Challengers, as well, but going back and forth on what i thought of the ending. Did really enjoy the soundtrack, too
Oh of course, it seemed pretty clear that was coming--was waiting for it and loved it--i meant the cut to credits part...
Saw The Mummy 25th Anniversary rerelease in the theater with my wife today. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weiss were so hot in that movie
It worked for me. Spoiler At that point, who wins the match doesn’t matter. They’ve all gotten what they wanted and what they needed out of the match, the moment and for their relationship (s?) going forward. All of them coming to that realization — verbalized by the Zendaya yell that flashes back to the first time they were all together on a tennis court — brings it full circle.
Boy Kills World is not the greatest movie but a fun performance by Bill Skarsgard Just lots of kills and blood 7/10
also saw the Kinds of Kindness trailer beforehand and yes I’m in on another Emma/Yorgos film pros: It has Hunter Schafer cons: It has Joe Alwyn
Drive Away Dolls was fucking awful. Had to turn it off. Jesus Margaret Qualley's character was annoying as shit.
them allowing/deciding on her voice was an immediate sign that it was going to be bad for some reason I finished watching it, but it's very bad
First scene with Pedro was a horrible sign…didn’t even get to them finding whatever was in the trunk.
Anyone seen Perfect Days? Looks delightful and playing at the local indie theater this week so may try and go.
It was solid/pleasant, but also nothing that you have to see in a theater if you can't make it this week.
Saw The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare and maybe I’m just a cunt, but it wasn’t very funny and there was really no drama at all to speak of.
Well when every single scene has every single character in it trying to say something clever or witty or cheeky, you’d expect eventually someone would actually say something clever or cheeky or witty.
Met the hype. Really enjoyed it. Cinematography and music is great. I saw a quote, “if Godzilla wasn’t in this movie it would still be a good movie.” The human element was the best part to me. A specific scene will stick with me for a while.
watched Beyond The Infinite Two Minutes quite good same director as last year's River ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27695005/?ref_=nm_knf_t_2 ) which has similar time loop concept
