I have these as well and am happy with them, makes it easy to attach the key ring to an internal zipper
I am studying for a work exam so I bought a 10th gen iPad. We have an old 3rd generation that was gifted to the kids but I have never really used iPads much. this thing is really nice.
iPads are pretty cool if you have a use case. I keep buying them hoping to find mine. So far the best use has been iPad minis for my children.
My kids are under five and really only get to use them for things like car rides, so the smaller size/weight is the major selling point.
They’re silly expensive for a kid gadget but I know they’ll last (given the kids don’t destroy them) and there’s parental controls that integrate pretty nicely with my Apple Family account.
very true. can't think my experience will be improved sitting on the ground in my NBA jersey as I navigate 6 screens and jerking my head side to side and constantly tinkering with screens that are starting and stopping based on my sight line.
it's probably years away, but this is the only thing that got me excited (it's time stamped for 1:58) if they had that for an all 22 view of a game, it'd be worth it
Dear Nerds, I need to display my new MacBook pro on two monitors plus my laptop screen. It appears my current adaptor only extends 1 and mirrors 1. Google tells me I need something with display link, but then I search for it and seems most products only support mirror.
I have a Caldigit TS3 Plus that handles it perfectly for my MBP using two displays. I keep my Laptop in clamshell in a stand, but I just tried to use my MBP as a third display and it worked fine. I paid $157.99 last year for it.
I do this at work with a M2 MBP and use USBc or whatever for one display and HDMI for the other. Extend between all 3.
I just don’t see how this is any easier than just using my phone as a second screen. I do all of this without a headset on. And YouTube tv is adding more and more to multi view. You don’t need a headset for this and imo it’s likely a worse experience.
The courtside view is where the value is going to be. I've not used these newer headsets to speak to the quality but I think I did it once on my quest 2 a couple years ago and it was very meh. Once the quality is True HD (obviously prefer 4k) that is going to be fucking sweet.
I think it has potential. I hope enough early adopters keep it afloat while the kinks are worked out and I could see myself being interested in like 5 years.
I went and did the demo at the Apple store today for the Vision Pro. Basically a 30 minute guided tour. Cons: -Its Heavy, can't imagine walking around with it on routinely- also look like a douche -it needs a constant power source so you have to keep a battery pack or plugged into the wall at all times Pros: -The immersive "environments" were crazy. It was 360 degree view, looking up at the sky and all around and it felt like I was sitting by the lake -panoramic photos, it feels like you are living inside of them -immersive video that was shot specifically for this device made you feel like you were actually there The price is crazy, if it was 1500 I would have bought on the spot just do it. What I will need more of is content shot to be viewed on the vision pro. It's cool to watch a TV show on what feels like a 100 foot screen, but that isn't the worth the money. The "immersive stuff" was unreal... need a lot more of it and sporting events to basically have a half court camera, sideline camera, under the basket camera using this technology to pay 3500.
Wait til the non pro comes out or until they decide to get rid of the stupid exterior face thing. That’ll help with weight and price.
Apparently it lacks widgets and live activities though, which is weird. The TV app does live activities automatically for your favorite NBA team though.
I wish the ESPN app would support live activities. Sports Alerts is good in that regard and supports every team I want it for, but the app design is kind of ass. I do admit the live activities for NBA games from the Apple TV app is really good, it's faster updating than any other sports app or website, the NBA/website app included.
is this the best sports app? I’ve been using it for years and haven’t really looked at anything else. ESPN app is a little clunky.
what are the specs on your new MacBook Pro and do you like it? I’m currently on the verge pulling the trigger on one
Checked out the Apple Sports app during the college games last night and was not a fan. It's too basic.
