When that video was going around where Tony had to beg the live crowd to stay for ROH, how had no one told him to book a main event dark match after the crap so the live crowd would stay. That seems like really basic stuff.
No we wouldn't. We'd say "that looked kinda stupid," maybe get a few comments in agreeement and move on. Bad wrestling spots happen every week on every brand. That looked kinda stupid.
timing was off… Cody definitely is slow on setup. I think Cody fucked up his shoulder. Hope it’s nothing long term.
Seriously, Bankz Shawn Hunter will you two please both shit the fuck up! It’s like watching 8 year old girls argue about whatever 8 year old girls argue about now.
Shawn’s team just drafted a new franchise QB and he has zero posts about it, yet he has 15 about Tony Khan in a neck brace
They made it a point about how the draft was about “keeping the talent you have”. Trips said it at the start and Corey and Wade both made multiple comments throughout the show.
Mania always feels like a season finale. The Raw and Smackdown after mania no longer are hijacked shows. I would just have the draft on those episodes. You generally have all talent in place and mostly just random matches and surprise NXT call ups. It’s odd to do a few weeks of TV then run a draft a week prior to a PLE.
Some talent moved, Smackdown had a smaller pool to select from. Monday they have double the roster to select.
They wanted to mirror the draft, but it was like WWE Free Agency where everyone re-ups with the same team. It’s silly and maybe they push harder once the real draft was over, but drafting your own people isn’t really a draft.
I wish just one time they would do the draft correctly. One for one, everybody on the roster drafted. It makes zero sense that Punk or Drew are still waiting to be drafted when Kiana James and Akira Tozawa are already off the board. Just lean all the way into it, make it four shows if you have to. Implement trades, break up some teams. It feels like they’re just pulling names out of a hat and nothing resembling a real draft. The last time it had a special feel to it was Bischoff vs Flair I think.
Just go with the draft randomizer. Did Cena get drafted twice in one night with that setup. That was fun. And you’re not pretending to draft best available or keeping people off limits. And you don’t need to have separate pool of talents.
They are trying to do it over two nights so both shows can have it and have the pools to make stars eligible on each show, but it's just stupid.
I don't understand the logic of having Belair as a solo top pick when she is currently doing tag team stuff with Jade. If they were taking this draft seriously in kayfabe, Raw could just draft Jade and now the potential future tag champs aren't even on the same brand. And why would you want your #1 pick doing tag team work instead of going after singles gold?
Rey Fenix is back tonight facing off against the wrestler formerly known as Black Taurus - he had to change his name when he left AAA because AAA owns the gimmick/name
Putting the draft on Raw/Smackdown is and always has been dumb. It completely kills the vibe of those shows imo. They should just make it a Peacock special or do it on The Bump or something. They'd honestly be better off doing a draft/trade combo show where a handful of NXT talent get "drafted" and they do video segments of the GMs negotiating trades for current talent imo. They can even include the talent in some of those segments.
hope this isn't true and its just MJF putting fake rumors out to swerve people on an impending return
I'm spreading the wealth between companies and create a wide diversity the types of wrestling I can present. WWE - Gunther AEW - Will Ospreay, MJF AAA - El Hijo Del Vikingo New Japan - Zack Sabre Jr. Didn't include a woman, but if I had to include one then it would be Giulia. My second women's choice would be Stephanie Vauquer of CMLL.
They are going to have to pivot with the Undisputed Kingdom. With this news, they can't just keep kicking the can down the road waiting for MJF to return to finish up that story.
