JFC it seems like Mizzou has either landed or been close to landing 89% of players in the portal. How far below the roster cap were they?
Mizzou had a quite a few 4th-5th stringers transfer who were never going to see the field. I think we were at 80 after spring ball Marcus Bryant, the OL from SMU is the only post spring addition. So I think there's room for 3-4 more.
This guy has been committed and de committed from half the schools in the country. Apparently he doesn’t like to play school.
It's a position of need for us as well. Have 2 solid starters, but the back ups are all super young and unproven
I fear you'll pay better. Getting Cormani and Dylan off the books had to free some up for us but probably not enough.
He was coming to UCF but then couldn't get accepted, happened with another school too. So wouldn't count on him to anyone right now.
Heard he was so demoralized by getting dominated by the unstoppable force that is Jaxson Dart in practice that it made his ass quit.
FSU targeted him in winter portal, but he didn’t have the grades/classes to be enrolled. Thought we might circle back after spring, but apparently not.
"One of the biggest loser players in modern day Aggie football." Well that's a pretty steep hill to climb.
Maybe. But until Mario has a season where he actually meets expectations instead of disappointing, then conference titles and playoff wins still feel like wishful thinking. Cam Ward does seem like he gives them best shot they’ve had in recent memory. But for his sake, hopefully Mario will get out of his way.
This made me think - what’s a reasonable amount of transfers as starters? Does it make a difference it theyre first year transfers or been w the team for 2-3 years. Last Year Missouri had 9 transfer starters. 3 were first year in the program. Next year looks like about 13 w 4 being first year in the program. but also it’s hard to say w so many guys rotating on the DL
1/3 starters for football, 1/2 for basketball seems pretty reasonable acting like 12 transfer starters is normal is ridiculous but SEC/Florida I guess we'll have 6 at most this year
There's no limit if you get the right kids and have some semblance of a decent culture. Some of our most vocal team guys were 1 or 2 year rentals
I would expect OSU/Bama/ UGAs of the world to have less transfer starters than everyone else. They don’t need them
Ohhhh, Saban never took more transfers in than say 2-4 a year. Most of them started outside of a couple DB's.
