The sample size is really, really small so I don't want to get too excited but the K-rate is down to 20%, exit velo still elite (95.0 mph!), HardHit 54.2%, Fly Ball rate up, and spray chart isn't so pull-heavy. Maybe the oppo hits are just fluky but he's looked like a different player this year. Hopefully he has taken that next step to be a middle of the lineup guy. Maikel is also looking really good with upper-level exit velo and hardhit%. He has been unlucky with a .241 BABIP. Nelson is running hot with a .400 BABIP but his exit velo and hardhit% look great. K-rate is astronomical still. Vinnie....woof. The BABIP is really low at .143 but he hasn't been unlucky at all. His exit velo is bad and his hardhit% is . He isn't barreling anything rn. Meanwhile, Bobby . BABIP is high but that's to be expected when you rank 2nd in all of baseball in exit velo and hardhit%. He currently has a 72.4% HardHit%
One thing on MJ is if you go back to last years all star break when he made the change to his hand positioning, the numbers look good over that period of time.
