It depends if you see being endoctrinâted as a mental disorder, I would say it is but temporary for some and should be easily treatable
I mean these people clearly need mental healthcare my dude What the fuck else should we call it? That guy is a legitimate crazy person
I seriously doubt that guy was ALWAYS like that and if he was that’s even worse The internet has warped a lot of minds unfortunately.
I’ve said this for years, we need to get these people out of their mothers basements and into the real world where they can be properly ridiculed.
I don't think we've fully appreciated the number of people who spent vast parts of 2020 getting dosed up with facebook and twitter conspiracies about everything. With that being said at some point it's their own damn fault and every fucking event the "conspiracy influencers" predicted not coming true and then still believing gives me less and less sympathy.
Notorious Hells Angel murderer Maurice Boucher seemed to be the toast of Montreal even after an 11 year old kid was caught in the crossfire. Mentally ill people in Quebec?
There are quite a few, yes. And Quebec is a notoriously racist and anti sémite province, also Quebecois got the short end of the stick in Canada for a while and nobody ever cared.
You think I have sympathy for them? I want to drown these people. I want them locked away for our fucking safety I could give a flying shit about them
I think there has to be some sympathy for the generation of vets who were lulled into the army because of lies and came back beyond fucked with ptsd very amenable to mistrust in official sources. Outside of that of course I have no sympathy from people who legit trust Alex Jones, Rogan, etc particularly the "just asking questions" types.
the funny thing, and correct me if I am wrong, is that vets from that time are more aware of social justice than the vets just out the army now. And even worse are all the rogan types who should not really ask those questions.
I have no idea wtf you're even getting at by this point. Am I an asshole for saying 95ish% of the people who were "just asking questions" about whether the emergency system test today would turn people who'd gotten a covid shot into literal zombies were absolute fucking idiots?
no, i am agreeing with you. Most of the people who are « questioning everything » never went through a whole lot in their lives. I just took a few detours.
not trying to be a jerk and don’t want to get too far into it but have you or anyone you know well (close friends or family) been diagnosed with a legitimate condition? I think it does a disservice to people with legitimate mental health issues to call everyone who does stupid or fucked up shit “mentally ill”.
that is a good point, and i have seen you do it before. Sometimes the line is thin but I know what you mean. I think someone believing that we will all turn into zombies because of a vaccin is sick though, probably undiagnosed. It is sad but It’s not a reason not to make fun of the ridiculousness of the whole thing.
that is well put, fair maybe the word batshit crazy is a better term here than mentally ill(that was a joke by the way) but was the zombie thing motivated politically?
Weirdly specific group to have a mental disorder. This seems like Occam’s Razor 101 and these people are morons. Apologies gents. I’ll wrangle him back to our team thread.
thanks for being here, but obviously some words were put in my mouth here. i doubt that everyone who voted for trump or that did not get vaccinated ( whatever that number means) believe in this crap. And I am not defending them.
It kind of depends on the conspiracy right? You can be an idiot and believe that 9/11 was an inside job and be unstable but you can also be completely fucking insane and think that a vaccin will turn this world into zombie land. And both of these are idiots, being insane doesn’t absolve you from being an idiot no matter how you slice that pie, there is no way you will convince me that someone who believes in the zombie thing is not insane. There is definitely something not working well
again believing in something stupid doesn’t make you mentally ill. You attempting to argue that illustrates how little you know about mental health. Let’s take the vaccine stuff. Most of them are individuals who voted for trump. They had their racist views validated by him so they continue to support him. They can’t accept that he is wrong about anything because that will invalidate their other beliefs. They also need to believe they are smarter than everyone else. They want/need to believe they see or are somehow privy to knowledge others don’t have. Yes some might have legitimate mental health issues but simply believing something insane in and of itself doesn’t prove they do. Arguing that it doe is simply ignorant.
Lol. Of course you made it about a political and racial thing yes, someone believing that an alien named freddy would come to save them (something stupid) is a good sign that that person is mentally ill
you don’t think Qanon followers (who make up the majority of people pushing anti vaccine conspiracy theories) are racist? You don’t think that the majority of them voted for trump, I’m trying to have an honest conversation with you but it’s clear you don’t know that you’re talking about. Again simply believing in something crazy doesn’t in and of itself make you mentally I’ll.
