For these EA access games it's always the full game. The only difference is that when in the trial it isn't using the full, true unlock code you get from buying the game. Didn't have an issue at all converting FIFA from the trial to the full game. Only difference is you won't get the "do you want to use the trial" screen at the beginning. Same for Battlefield Hardline too.
I used to be real good at putting but haven't played for a few years. Do you pay more attention to the squares or the single dashed line?
I use a bit of both, I probably pay attention to the squares more while using the line as a guide or to confirm my read.
Played 2 rounds yesterday. One at TPC Sawgrass (+7) and one at Bay Hill (-14). I don't know if I'm great or bad. Played even or -1 at St Andrews the other day
putting is brutal, I left so many putts <1' away. there is an attribute bonus which boosts all the putting skills, I made sure to equip that. this is what Ive figured out with putting thus far. 1) Aim: the dotted line is the break line, it tells you where to aim. while in the "aim" mode, bring the camera as close as possible and line up with the break. say the putt should go from 1 o'clock and enter the cup from the right side: firs bring the aiming marker in as close as possible, then visualize a line which extends from where the ball sits to the first few dashes of the break, and beyond. then find that point, line up, and adjust as necessary. if the break line says the putt will hit the cup from the left or right side, aim a bit to compensate (enter right side of cup, aim left to provide a margin for error) 2) Distance: give or take a 1' of putting distance/strength for each 1" uphill or downhill. also, I err on the side of caution that I may only get 90-95% of the distance I add just a bit extra of putting distance after lining everything up. for example: 10 ft putt, 2" uphill. add 2 ft of distance, or just where it clicks over to approx 13 ft (as I often leave the putt short)
do you play all 18 or the quick rounds? the simming can be odd in career mode, a guy I went to elementary school with was leading a few tournaments for several rounds, I dont believe he is all that great in real life though.
That was in play now mode with Jordan Spieth playing the full 18. Knew I wasn't buying so I stopped playing the career mode
How do I add specific stats? All I see are the ones that go on after every round. Then the ones that are in the like "balanced" basically type of player you are
yea, the putting boost is somewhere among the 5th-8th unlocked boosts, not available initially. in years past we could choose what attributes to upgrade, this year seems to be automatic.
I would like to know how it decides what to automatically upgrade. Wonder if there's anyway to control it.
Played TPC at Sawgrass and chipped in on 9 for eagle. Had a nice little run from 9-17 to get to -6 after playing even the first 8 and hit water on 18 off the tee, shanked it way left. Drop and put it into the middle of the fairway then saved par by knocking my next shot in from like 125 out Game is a lot of fun and once it hits the vault I imagine I'll play more and get into career mode more
I think it just distributes the attributes evenly, and the boosts are to emphasize certain points of the game. as for my career mode, I won my first tournament by getting a hole in one on the 17th hole, on day 4. That put me a stroke back, I got a par on 18, but the leader dropped a stroke. they do not have playoffs, so I won the tiebreaker by default.
Using my pro I think l had a round of like +4. I can only do well on play now, I've only used Spieth so no idea if I'm any good with anyone else
Got a lot better once I started paying attention to the elevation on putts. Uphill/downhill was dicking my reads up. Went from +4 for the tourney at bay hill to -7 at Troon. Also switched from Power to Up and Down
When putting is there still the button you can push that basically follows the break line to the hole?
not that Ive found, but the last golf game I played was 6-8 years ago. Its funny to read the reviews saying how EA shifted back to making the game more friendly for the casual player, but not too long ago they had big head mode while playing matches with powered up golfballs against fake goofball players.
you'd think they would go about demonstrating how to read the putts. I had faintly remembered the 1" of elevation = 1' of putt distance rule, but they mention it in one of the loading screen slides.
Went back to career mode with my remaining time and won the Arnold Palmer. Shot -7 on the final day to come from behind and win
I played in HS and most fall/spring/summer Saturday mornings from 16-20. Don't know that I've played in 10 years and I'm much happier for it
I watched the reviews and was turned off. At one point, I thought I would pick it up but I just don't see it happening anymore.
Is there any way to take away where the shot is going to land? I find it way too easy and can't find how to turn it off.
as an avid TW PGA Tour fan the past 10 years or so, i'm pretty disappointed in this game. hope like hell that the free DLC's are huge, because the game seems pretty damn bare right now without it. career mode is just lazy, hardly no game types (skins, bingo bango bongo, etc), and that's not even getting to the joke that the lack of golfers/courses is. gameplay feels exactly the same, too. it is beautiful, but kinda bummed and i feel like i wasted 60 bucks right now
Yeah, friend and I had it pre-ordered but after putting 4-5 hours into the early trial we canceled those on Saturday. Game just doesn't feel finished. I know they plan on building on it but I'm not dropping $60 on a game that doesn't feel finished to me. Pretty pleased though that EA Access allowed me to make the decision before the game officially came out.
Honestly everyone who doesn't have EA Access should be signing up I told all my friends with PS4 that if they hear anything about it coming to PS4 they need to sign up as soon as it does and I told my brother if he gets a next gen console and PS4 doesn't have it that he needs to get XB1
EA Access is almost too good to be true. for a company which gets crushed for fleecing our wallets, $30/yr is fantastic. although it'd be tough for them to justify charging more than a year of XBL. if someone primarily plays sports games, they should absolutely get a XB1.
PS4 says they will never have EA Access they said it's a waste of money to their customers. Which I think is bullshit. I love it. best $30 you can spend.
