Just a crazy drop-off. This is the bleakest the program has ever been under Gundy. We were way worse in 2014, but we had Rudolph and Washington. We have nothing now. I think our recruiting class is in the 70’s and I could see a bunch of people transferring. No idea what will happen. But we need to fire the OLine coach for sure and hit the portal hard. We need a QB in the worst way and I don’t think we have one on the roster (unless we NIL Sanders to get him to stay - I’d transfer if I were him).
Gundy is checked out. Sanders was batting .500 before he got hurt. Big 12 defense adapted and learned our plays. Our offense was so predictable today. If 0 was in the backfield they stacked 6 in the box pre snap. 8 guys stacked the box or rushed at snap. It was an easy read. Our QB could not read the D at all and missed a lot of wide open receivers.
Kasey Dunn appears to be pretty bad at his job. But I think a lot of it is Gundy being unwilling to change and super conservative so it’s hard to assign blame between the two. At this point I’d honestly be OK if we moved on from Gundy. He seems completely checked out and he’s definitely way too comfortable.
