Hannibal Buress, one of the best stand-up's currently has his new show premiering this Wednesday at 10:30. I'm really excited for this show.
If I wanted to watch this show, what timezone would I need to be in to watch this at 10:30, and what channel would I need my TV tuned to during that time?
Very excited. Hannibal is one of the best comedians out there right now and he's great on Broad City and 30 Rock. I hope it's set up with sketches from his routine. Would love to see Young Jeezy: Licensed Real Estate Agent.
he is hilarious. just rewatched 30 rock and was reminded (in the few times he showed up) how great he was. just came across his Daily Show "audition" http://www.vulture.com/2015/07/watch-hannibal-buresss-daily-show-audition.html?mid=twitter_nymag
I'm still surprised how shockingly bad this show was. It's almost like they tried to make it unfunny. Also Hanibal seemed uncomfortable on stage and skits.
I was just about to watch, now I don't think I want to. Hannibal and John Mulaney are probably my two favorite standups, it kills me that their shows suck(ed).
i tried to laugh a few times and wanted to like it, but by the end, i was ok with the fact that my dvr cut off the last minute or so. it's just the first ep but...
Just watch. You may enjoy it, but just so you know I never have seen anything, but like 1 minute of standup from him.
The way most of these Comedy Central shows are, they film the entire season before even airing the premiere. If that's the case, the rest of the episodes will not have been changed due to any kind of negative feedback. I know almost nothing about the show, so hopefully that's not the case.
So you liked last nights episode? I want to check out his stand up due to good reviews. All I'm saying is I have not taken time to check him out until last night. Last night was bad. Not saying he sucks, but it looks like his show does.
Got you. Fans of the guy may find it funny. That's why disclosed that I still haven't gotten around to watching his other stuff. I however think based on who he gets compared to, that his fans are going to be severely disappointed.
i loved mcgruber, i love hannibal's standup, and i have hope that he turns it around. but last night was not good. he was awkward on stage (and not the good kind of awkward), the show felt disjointed and it felt like the first episode of a show. gotta imagine though that he's funny enough, and this type of show should fit him well and he'll figure it out over time.
this is a good take on the first ep/show (although I hope he's wrong when saying burress' comedic personality doesn't fit a weekly show) http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/bastard-machine/hannibal-buress-bill-cosby-amy-807503
Inside Amy Schumer is a pretty good show, but dead-on brilliant? Guy needs to hone it back a little bit IMO.
There's a reason that one was hyped way more than the others. I've enjoyed every episode I've seen so I'm in no way hating on the show. That episode is just head & shoulders better.
See a couple of his stand ups are on demand. Going to give them a shot even though I was disappointed in the tv show.
his standups are great, imo. i really disliked the first ep of the show, but i still love his stand-up
It was a little better, but still rough to me. I watched his Chicago standup and I liked it. Didn't think he was as great as I had heard, but it was good. The whole panel thing felt weird and porn skit was rough. I think his style just does not translate well to this type of show, plus he needs to fire a couple of writers. I will watch another stand up special of his though.
I enjoyed the 2nd episode. He started by going over last week and how he messed up and where. Then the panel had its moments although Brad Williams sucked.
Every great comedian has had a TV show bomb early on in their career. This is his mulligan. Not sure wtf the point of this show was. I'm sure he can reengineer it before it completely tanks. Hes one of the funniest dudes in the industry atm. Hell I'd watch him going places and doing restaurant reviews.
I think his standup is overrated. It's good, but people claiming he's the best are crazy. Also I don't think Loius CK, Seinfeld or Chapele had shows that bomber before the reached success with a show. Louie didn't last long in HBO but the show was good.
The three you mentioned are pretty elite and I think even the most diehard Hannibal fans would not put him on their level anyway. And you're very, very wrong about Louis CK. He had like four failed pilots and one lackluster season of "Lucky Louie" before he broke through with "Louie."
The only thing I've ever seen Hannibal on was an episode of @ Midnight. He was turrible and it made me wonder why he was getting his own show. Maybe he's better with rehearsed stand-up?
