There’s like 6 fan groups on here that need to worry about that. Penn state is certainly not one of them
England will be fun. On form England could dummy us but maybe Gareth decides for a Hendo Rice double pivot and jams the gears up. no idea on Iran but assume we should be competitive and favored and then if we can’t beat Wales or Scotland, then we probably don’t deserve to advance.
Yours and Mexico’s draws are pretty equal imo. Poland is maybe the slightly tougher pot 3 opponent but the Euro winner is tougher than Saudi Arabia.
I'm not going to lie, I think England are really good. like others have said, our best bet is they play super-conservative and leave a lot of their creativity off of the pitch.
hopefully Iran is the only match that gets an early kickoff and they cater to the US and Euro audiences with the other two matches.
It’s clearly an easy 9 points for the lads. I’m just trying to pick the GD. I want to say +10 but if one of our 9 finds some form I could see a 14+
tbh I've always found it weird seeing brit slang used on this board solely for soccer threads and nowhere else
hoping the English getting Iran and what should be an easy 3 points in the first match will have Southgate taking a more conservative approach in the second
10 years ago I would be more concerned about college football crossover but I have become more apathetic towards the sport so idc
If this is accurate, I imagine the extremely low number of games is the reason for this inflation of viewers per event.
If you ask any rando off the street "Who plays in the Egg Bowl?" The most common response would be "wtf is the Egg Bowl?"
Only American vernacular should be allowed itt until after the England game. Field, jersey, goalie, shoes, shutout, etc
we’re winning the soccer game against england. our guys will be flying around out there. we’ve got a great group of lunch pale hard workers and good leg talent that won’t quit until the job is done imo or we may lose, but those are the only two possible options in any sport here in god bless america
In my head I’m trying to imagine what happens in England if US and other UK country advance and England does not. Does the country spontaneously combust?
my biggest issue with Americans adopting English vernacular for the purpose of soccer fandom is when people say something like North London "darby". it's derby. you're just deciding to use an English accent to pronounce one word.
