How many forwards have to underperform under Berhalter before we stop pretending it's a problem with the player pool?
What post are you responding to here? Is there anyone other than probably Alexi Lalas who doesn't think this is the best player pool in USMNT history?
I'd be interested in seeing what Vazquez can do, honestly. Completely different kind of target than any other striker in the pool. I checked today and he's like Haaland's size, outweighs any of the other top 4 strikers by at least 20 pounds, 40 in Balo's case. BUT. The bigger issue seems schematic
I personally think GGG's system would work best with a false 9 type CF, but the guy that most fits that profile in the pool is probably Ferreira and I just don't think he's good enough. thought Balogun could do some of that work but haven't really seen it yet. Sargent is intriguing it's a shame he got hurt.
There's been the idea of using a false 9 thrown around for years under Berhalter, but I always wonder how much of that is just due to CFs never seeming to get much service/production outside of filling the net against minnows.
I think the buildup is begging for someone to drop in and get involved and guys like Pulisic and Weah would really excel at using that movement to get in behind the CBs.
No one in particular. Just has been an endless cycle of promising young forwards not meeting expectations followed by posts about how they haven't performed. I think most people understand it's a Berhalter problem but some don't
Just reminded myself in MLS thread that Missouri should be Ralston without question. I always forget about that era of NE teams, probably because I could never stand Twellman.
He actually played, and was pretty solid. I didn't watch, but he went 90 and their fans are raving about him on twitter after a big dub
governing bodies will never take it seriously. if they did, you’d see large point deductions or mass stadium bans imo
Red Bull are pulling out of the tournament, good for them. F the people running this thing for not doing the right thing,
Not an expert on Norwich's situation, but from reading what some pundits have said, Norwich doesn't have a ton of money, and if they fail to go up, Sargent probably gets sold. Back to Germany?
