I have nightmares about layoffs. There is a very intense since of urgency from the board level regarding my product as I’m expected to enable the technology division to be able to cut non-wage costs so we don’t have to resort to layoffs in the near term future. Job has had zero chill the past year and half.

My coworker got fired around December 1st and they just reposted his job this week. I’ve been doing all of his work plus mine since. I decided this week Im racing them to see if I can find a new job before they fill his old one.

Luckily we have a FinOps team adjacent to me so I don’t have to focus on that portion of the P&L. One of my focus areas right now is improving the source to cash data & supporting processes so we can better hold people accountable for the insane amount money we spend with outside vendors.
