i binged this over the last few week or so. would not recommend to anyone but it had its moments, i guess. season 1 was way better than season 2.
Just finished season 2. Solid but nowhere near as good as 1. They did make a good decision to drop Abbie Cornish.
I love the Clancy Jack Ryan-verse and am excited about a new season. I don't love the look of this, because Ryan isn't Bourne, but still hopeful for some good twists and turns. I just think it's so silly that we have so many freaking good books available to make season after season of content and they push new stuff constantly.
Season 1 was so good. 2 was a big letdown but still solid. That 3 preview doesn't look like the same show as season 1. Will still watch.
I’m guessing they put all the best action scene cuts into the trailer to get as many clicks, shares and retweets possible. Don’t have to spend a lot on marketing if it blows up online.
I’m through E2 and the pacing is great. Good story so far too. Excited to see this one through as it definitely has more promise than S2.
First two episodes are good Are lord commander Mormont and the defense minister the youn Russians at the beginning?
Spoiler Ohhh misread your post. Definitely Lord Mormont is the guy with the box who was giving out personables to those who “died”.
Finished. Better than S2. Still not sure why they insisted on making Ryan a Jason Bourne/Seal Team 6 trained killer, but whatever A few big reality suspension things, but decent watch Spoiler -lol at the president of Czechia’s dad being someone without an identity other than being an ex-red army soldier -feel like there was a mistake in the script where they said Russia would move missiles to their border with Slovakia if she accepted the nato missiles. Where the fuck does Russia touch Slovakia? -the nuke going off but no fallout? -the tunnels into the kremlin plot was lol funny.
Its alright. I hate their decision to have foreign language conversations in english Love wendell pierce
I’m intrigued by e1 but know enough from first 2 seasons that there is gonna be a whole lot of cringe. 1970 USSR guys all talking in English, please
Spoiler Similar to season 2 where Jack executed the president of a foreign country in the state residence of that country and then ex-fil’d on a U.S. helicopter, this season was full of 10 ridiculous plot holes an episode after about episode 3. It’s fun stupid tv to watch but they have clearly chosen to go the lowest common denominator route and that’s kind of shitty for fans of the book character and universe.
i'm through 7 eps so far and i enjoy this season. They did kind of turn Ryan into a spec ops guy, which isn't his field at all - that's more of what JRJr is, but it's entertaining. there are some scenes/plots which make me roll my eyes, but for the most part i'm enjoying it
There was a line this season describing what could be smuggled into the US “humans, weapons, suicide bombers”. Made me roll my eyes quite a bit. All in all the first four episodes are good and fun.
Through ep 1 so far, really glad they finally brought Ding into the show. Hopefully Clark gets introduced this season too
Didn’t realize it was 6 eps until the end. S1 S4/S3 bc I love Ding S2 Feel like they did a nice job of closing it out and allowing the new show featuring Ding space to operate. Love Michael Kelly in his role so I hope he continues as well. Feel like Krasinski was fine but still a tier below Ford and Baldwin though they were very fortunate to have great scripts. They have so much source to pick from but it’s always something new.
Episode 5 going down same path as previous seasons. Just ridiculous leaps that make absolutely no sense
yeah this was the weakest season by a good margin. Still entertaining enough but largely repetitive and stale
haven't started this season yet, but what made the books so good is that things did change. Jack Ryan's career kept progressing. This show made the same mistake 24 did. It always ended up in the exact same spot and the next season started in the same spot, Jack Bauer/Ryan as a low level agent who saves the day.
I don’t want to spoil anything but the plot is very much the same “Jack has to break the rules and go rouge to save the world!” albeit starting from a different rung on the ladder
