yeah but I didn’t know if those are trainers and not just regular people owning them. Read a couple articles after I posted and it seems like most wild animals they are a ton of work and make lousy pets. They’re really cool though.
They are called jesses and they stay on the birds feet to help with handling. They are comfortable for the bird, otherwise they would be ripped off, cause sores and generally make for a very angry and unhappy bird. Birds actually love bathing and anyone who keeps birds of prey, especially for hunting, has to allow for birdy bath time before taking a bird out to hunt. If this owl wasn't happy it would not be happily floating like this. from reddit
