hitting breweries for tasting room stuff is nice, but I can get their stuff at stores in KC. Well two of them, not sure on distribution besides the show me sour that boulevard did with side project which was tap room only. Picked up some more stuff from 2nd shift, hopefully it doesn't suck.
Fall is in the air, made chili tonight, so fuck it. Stashed this last year and it's quite nice for a first timer
Opened my bottle of stone enjoy after 10.31.15...damn good. Nice Brett characteristics. I liked the "fresher" Brett IPA's that modern times did w/ the fruitiness. This is more Orval-like thiugh, which I always love.
The porch was a cool, but tiny bar. Nothing too exciting on tap, but had a bunch of Florida beer that I drink regularly. Could be a little more exciting for you, as I don't know how much Florida beer you drink. Our hotel was right next to the waterfront brewery, which was a pretty huge brewery that just opened on Friday. It didn't appear that they were too prepared for opening day, as they only had one of their beers on tap - a key lime wit, which was not good. Again, they just opened so I'm sure they have some kinks to work through, but the bar is really nice and I'm sure they'll start dialing things in.
Surprisingly, this World of Beer close to me in Denver will be putting up some great shit Friday night for Great American Beer Fest week. World of Beer Cherry Creek will turn over its taps at 7 p.m. to Crooked Stave, Jester King, Bell’s, Perennial, Breakside, Omnipollo, Fremont, Gigantic, Societe, Cascade, Creature Comforts, Boneyard, Crux, Prairie, Almanac.
Hopslam only in cans and kegs next year. Sounds like it's only temporary because of expansion, but give me hoppy beers in cans vs bottles any day.
I figured it had something to do with the states that wouldn't sell it because of the kid on the bottle? But I hadn't actually heard anything until I saw it.
Not institutions finest offering. You should have your boy send you a growler of white walls next time they release it, or Scary Dairy if they allow growler fills.
I was thankful someone brought it to share, but opening it after about tasting 30 other beers is kind of a dumb thing to do with a beer like this. I know my pallet was blown at this point, There was a subtle malty sweetness stood out along with a classic 3F Brett character.
Out of the office early today. Bottled exactly a year ago...I had read that some people did not like aging this at all but I really do. Think it's not quite as good but it's definitely not bad
Meant to mention this earlier, but bagatelle and la creperie (cash only) were awesome meals. Louie's backyard was good, but overpriced.
Lot of Citra shining through - I wish MBC wasn't outrageously priced. THe Sucaba on the other hand - Whoa!
