I just assumed they were hitting weak spots that weren’t covered. They showed some close up shots to the neck, collars etc. plenty of mandalorians were killed Likely real reason - plot armor
Mandolrians are trained their whole lives how to take blaster fire properly. I wouldn't doubt they know how to minimize the weak spots in the armor better than troopers.
I don't think the age and job makes sense here. In Mando she's a young-ish mid-level naval officer, in BB she's about the same age (and if she's a clone, fast aging) scientist. Unless they're both clones.
that’s what I’m thinking. I don’t think the character in BB appearing at this time and looking that similar is random
It's a plot hole for sure. I think the armorer, who is apparently beyond reproach for some unknown reason, has been beskaring for Moff Gideon and his people. Also think the boyish looking female spy is somehow involved with the armorer, not sure how though and maybe her connection is only to MG ...
I agree something it up with the armorer, but they've been on a remote outer rim planet for most of the season, she wasn't armoring for Moff Gideon from there.
The way they kept showing the armorer flying back to the fleet with the weak/injured survivors was weird to me. I expected the fleet to be on fire when she got out there, or for some opposition to be there. Like what other reason was there to show her flying out there? Not sure if that was an attempt at foreshadowing or just a weird editing decision because they thought we needed to be reminded that she left the group?
It could just be intentional misdirection and she isn’t a baddie at all. It’s just odd that she dipped out before they got to the sacred forge and her being an armorer I guess she could be still be rook kast, but reformed? Why she doesn’t take helmet off (I think the chess game was a huge clue)
There was a point where she pulled out her knife instead of the saber and I lost it. The answer though? CGI is expensive. I was 100% sure once they popped out the clouds all the TIEs would of been waiting for them and the Mando fleet destroyed. Explain the chess matches foreshadowing for me
God the hitting the button over and over and over and over gave me flashbacks. also calling now the reason ends with Grogu saying “this is the way” coherently.
I have been hate watching mostly this season, but that was a really fun episode. They need to do more of that, but I am sure it is really expensive to do.
I appreciated that the comedic moment of grogu in Ig-12 had a genuinely good dramatic payoff within the same episode. And using his newfound power that was formerly a bounty hunter model to bring peace instead of more conflict was very Jedi of him.
Paz’s weapon is a heavy artillery blaster/Gatling gun. It’s essentially a modified version of one of those stationary blaster cannons used to fire at heavy vehicles. Also, some YouTuber showed the kill shots on the troopers and Mandolorians were in the weak spots.
Grogu talking is the real turning point moment of the show. You have to get the tone just perfect. I have to think higher ups at Disney/Lucasfilm are shitting bricks thinking about it. If it isn't received properly it'll be a "jump the shark" moment.
I think it’s coming, and also believe that’s why they put yaddle in that tales of the Jedi episode so they don’t have to make grogu speak like yoda. Can you imagine if his first words were “this is the way” but they have to make it like yoda so grogu says “the way this is” or some shit?
So it's canon that Yoda speaks that way because he's Yoda, but have they ever explained why he does? Is it just to fuck with people? That's my headcanon.
I would absolutely love it if Mando said “this is the way” and Grogu responded “the way this is”. Like, I’d probably squeal like a teenager at a T Swift concert.
There's a universe out there where Jar Jar is somehow the Savior of the republic. If Lucasfilm didn't have such a stick up its own ass, a What If style show would be great for weird and funny asides like that
Ok, so some nerd cast I was listening to said that the hologram Hux is the dad and the one in the sequels is his fail-son/nepo-baby. I figured it was the same guy since I alway get lost in the timeline. Thinking it through it sounds like there’s 3 factions vying to lead the imperial “rebellion”: The main guy arguing with Moff and the majority of them seem to be on board with making Thrawn the new leader, probably the best choice. How much better would the last trilogy be if Thrawn was the main antagonist and Kylo was just his muscle. Moff is just out for himself trying to build his own empire. Just using the imperials as his personal armory. Using the scientist to make his own super soldiers. And I think that’s why his girl erased the scientists brain because he knows Hux wants to ruin the franchise by making a new Palpatine and he wants to stop “project necromancer”. Then Hux’s dumb assery that we know will be the storyline they go with because they don’t have the balls to de-canonize the last trilogy.
As far as who betrayed the Mandalorians I think the armorer is the clear choice but I think that might be a misdirect. Moff learned from his spy that the different clans were uniting, if it was the armorer he would of already known that. I think they had her leave because what is someone with a pair of pliers and hammer going to do during the final fight? I think Axe could be an option the way he was quick to jump out of the fight but him not taking the bribe last week and his line about “we may be mercenaries but we honor our word” doesn’t line up. On rewatch, I think there’s some pretty clear clues. I think the Night Owls work for Moff. They had that dinner seen to show how disgusted the mandalorians were with Bo for surrendering. How could they survive, even if they were underground, when the planet got “glassed”? They had some help. They were very very quick to offer a route into the mines aka the trap. And if they have been on Mandalore this whole time how did they miss the giant secret imperial underground base that was built? Moff talked about using Mandalorians and their weapon knowledge to make his new super soldiers. Only 1 of them entered the caves and if I followed things right he goes down immediately from the very first blaster fire, even though all the other Mandos took blaster fire and stood their ground. Much more likely theyre working for Moff instead of surviving in Chernobyl this whole time.
That's a damn good point. They knew exactly where the forge was and the imperial base is right next door.
It’s of night owls died. In the monster attack on the ship and in the fire fight also, pretty sure the base was always there. Didn’t Sabine go to imperial officer school on mandalore?
But, yeah. Armored is probably just really heavy handed misdirection could be a spy on each side. One was the chick who hologrammed moff and then you have on on the mandalorian side who is feeding info to the new republic
The Armorer bounced before they got to The Great Forge…don’t know why anyone didn’t called that into question. dark troopers now feature Beskar armor this isn’t quantum physics guys the Armorer tasked Bo to unite the clans aka round up all the Mandalorians. Random thoughts… they found a way to keep Grogu cute…my god Never got past the first half dozen eps of Rebels, need to rectify that…Especially if they are going with the Thrawn/HttE stuff.
The more I’ve thought about it, I don’t think the armorer is a spy. Think she’s Rook, but not a spy. also, rebels is a lot better after season 1.
