that was going to be my thought, season 1 ends on that giant cliffhanger. Also it was great to see the pre-stream events on episodes 1 and 2
i was just thinking i'm not sure they could do all of chroma conclave in one season but i could be wrong. something like 4 seasons and a couple of specials would be about right, but also could do 5 if they really wanted to stretch out the search for vestiges. either way i just want to see tary in action.
Spoiler Thought the dragon stories were passed. Didn't expect them to reappear. Percy character depth is great. Lots of good/great VA performances here. Literally the only gripe I have is I wish the animation was a bit more fluid and framed, though I understand it's DnD and maybe that's why it feels like it's turn based/missing frames (swings, kicks, stabs, etc). Loved everything else otherwise. Mercer did Orthax/Sylas wonders as a VA. Very excited for S2.
It’s tough to give you context without spoiling… but go back and watch the second episode again. Especially in Brimsythe’s house/layer Im aware I spelled lair wrong. And properly embarrassed
ahem, i just watched it all. my thoughts: its unfortunate they had to skip the whole ass first arc. lot of really cool moments in there. the next arc is a whole 44 episodes so that should be two seasons, yeah? briarwood arc is only 14 eps so maybe it should be three. there's certainly enough action in those 44 to justify three seasons. what we might actually see is longer seasons. tary arc. final arc. one shots. etc. will be interesting to see how it plays out. percy is much more interesting in this. sylas and delilah is honestly an incredible love story that i'd...love....to see some shit from their perspective. i've realized i will never be happy with how much content they are able to make. most of the "changes" were pretty minor. like when they found ripley she was disguised. not impactful at all really just saves time. it is very good. the animation is top tier. orthax was fantastic. seeing all of this with my eyeballs gives a really great perspective. having a visual for everything is really nice. i could keep going but i could go on forever. it ended exactly where i expected.
also i have also thought the "your soul is forfeit" line is just terrible. after seeing it in action i think its even worse.
Season 2 is going to be amazing but they are really gonna condense 44 episodes into 12? They will really have some major adjustments to make. I trust it’ll turn out great, if anyone can adapt a story it’s literally the group that made it in the first place, but easily could be 2 seasons.
Spoiler vorugal and umbrasyl were killed before all the vestiges were acquired so it won't be that cut and dry, but yeah it should be split between two seasons with the raishan reveal at the end of season 2
Spoiler Season 2 episode name list has it splitting at end of Umbrasyl fight but the raishan revel would be perfect
Spoiler that's not too bad. finish season 2 with grog v strongjaws and umbrasyl. season 3 goes through thordak. season 4 does raishan and tary. season 5 meat man and vecna. then maybe a quest for grog and wedding special. something like that maybe.
Going to see it tonight at the theater. I think it technically releases at midnight GMT, so it'll be out tonight
I believe it's the first 3 episodes tonight. I don't know if Amazon is just releasing them that way or if the theater has some special access
Spoiler: Pretty sure there was a Caduceus spotting when they show the Wild Mother section of Vasselheim in episode 2
First 3 episodes no spoiler review: Pretty good, not their best. Dragon animation was dope. major, major divergences from the show. Spoiler: end ep 3 Majorly bummed we got fish monsters and no beholder fight. Suuuuper bummed.
Which Critical Role episode does S2 start on? Got hooked after watching a few clips of the show and thinking I'm going to watch both
Group of voice actors started playing dungeons and dragons, then started live streaming their games. They’re now in their third campaign and their weekly show attracts over half a million viewers per week. Vox machina was their first campaign and their first ever streamed episode started about a third of the way through the campaign. The show picks up right about when they started streaming during the briarwood arc.
not surprised by it happening but i am surprised by it happening before lovm ends. i probably shouldn't be though.
