Probably because the recent trends on the news show protestors becoming violent, especially towards conservatives. Knowing you, I'm sure your mother told you not to play on a busy street. Blocking a roadway looks like Darwinism in action to me.

Look at it logically from a personal perspective. If someone is blocking a major road way, impeding on your freedom of movement, and you happen to hit them then you should not be liable for someone who made he foolish decision on getting in the middle of a busy roadway. That's why there are permits for these things so authorities can plan accordingly. Not to mention a good number of these protests have not been peaceful.

None of those look like "protestors" out in a highway. You have to look at it on a case by case basis.
There's also a difference between a person going out of their way to do harm to someone else like, the photos you posted, and then someone putting themselves in a bad situation like voluntarily walking in a populated roadway.

There's already laws protecting accidents. This is a reactionary law to a problem that does not exist, with the purpose of intimidating protestors. I'm arguing with no one.
lol again, I can assure you I'm not Farva. Anyways, you can interpret it like that if you want. This law seems to prevent anyone bringing wrongful liability on the driver, who also can rightly fear for their safety if they are stopped against their will from non-authority figures. I have to say from how I've seen these protestors act I don't blame them for wanting to get out of th area. My whole premise is them restricting the free mobility of someone so they can make a political statement.
