Yeah we'd absolutely be a one party state. But we're a couple of court justices and a filibuster nuking away from effectively being one at the federal level anyway. And the mainstream Dems want to keep all the people in power who let that happen. Obviously wresting power away from the corporatists within the current party structure would be the ideal outcome, but we may have to storm a few metaphorical Bastilles to make that happen first.
My brother built a "tiny" house to surprise his wife. It ended up being 20' long and like 14' heigh. He wants to put in on the McKenzie river as a fishing cabin
there's a better NYT article on this phenomenon (linked and quoted in this article, so you don't have to go searching for it) but I'm almost out of free articles for Feb on my work computer so this will have to do. http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2017/02/california-farmers-surprised-trump-anti-immigrant Cliffs on it are: California farmers supported Trump for the usual reasons, but thinking he was just paying some sort of lip service to actually deporting Latino immigrants. Now they're worried he's actually going to do it... which will leave them fresh out of cheap labor they can exploit. I'm guessing in the coming days you'll see construction company executives starting to cry about this too.
Just kidding Kansas lawmakers are inept http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article131654909.html Kansas budget fix hits roadblock; debate over tax hikes, budget cuts called off

I'm not sure that the GOP realizes they sold out the center of their party that held their nose and hoped Trump would be contained by congress or that they basically poured fertilizer on the left who had gotten complacent with the trajectory of America.
i guess I always assumed thats what the national groups are for like the RNC and DNC, to keep the big picture in mind but newp
Um... SLC is only about 40% Mormon... and I would estimate that the crowd was probably only about 20% or so (estimating based off of % that would be Dems/Progressives). Still good?
I keep thinking a lot of things are too far but the line keeps getting moved back. Hopefully we'll reach some type of "too far" moment soon if it hasn't already happened.
Oh I'm not saying it went too far in general. It's actually quite terrifying how indoctrinated a lot of this guys base is. But i believe that moms and the drain the swamp crowd see the devos confirmation as a big slap in the face. And that's not to mention anyone with a brain
