My dumb ass read #2 as soon as it came out. I'll do what I plan for GOT...start a total reread once the final book comes out. Not going to give either 1 minute of my time until then.
That’s kind of my plan too. I think I’ll probably have a lot it come back to me once I start reading them again but it will be nice to have a refresher.
New novella comes out next week. Im sure I'll read it, but also sure so much will go over my head because It's been so long since Ive read this. I only remember the broad strokes.
so the new novella is really just a rewritten, longer version of the short story on Bast he published years ago. You gotta be friggin kidding me with this guy
Doors of Stone will be out at the same time as Winds of Winter and the next Gentlemen Bastards novel.
Honestly I’m not mad at GRRM and Pat anymore. Never really was mad at Lynch. They’ve gone from being at the very pinnacle of the genre to sort of punchlines. I doubt they want this or would have chosen it if they could. I think they’ve got some issues going on (Pat and Scott have said as much) so I hope they can find what they need. Like I said I’m not worried about them finishing anymore because I honestly don’t think they will. Brandon is carrying the torch and there are a lot of really talented guys like Islington putting out bangers as well.
Just finished a quick reread of Kingkiller and I’m honestly more interested in reading its finale than GoT. But I’m fully confident we’ll get neither so that’s fun
