New Mike Flanagan show. Can’t find a trailer outside the Netflix app https://www.netflix.com/us/title/81414665?s=i&trkid=0&vlang=en&clip=81708734
it looked different than the one on Netflix, so I didn’t even click it but, is that Luke skywalker in the one you linked?
looking forward to this but really want a full trailer also using Nevermore and the Raven mask bothers me unless is supposed to be some sort of Poe anthology and not strictly a retelling of Usher
I’m def all about this but it doesn’t appear to be a modern retelling of Usher in the slightest. Def more an amalgamation of Poe’s anthology
Fucking love Flanagan's stuff, so I'm very excited for this. Haunting of Hill House remains one of my all-time favorites.
Really sucks that Frank Langella was fired for possibly (high likely) being a creepy asshole because he would be absolutely perfect as Rodrick Usher
First Ep felt like this series is gonna be more of a creepy mindfuck type series than a scary horror type like Hill House. That accurate?
yes but largely because Poe's work (and specifically the stories this show uses as the basis for its various eps) has much more to do with "mental" terror like paranoia, guilt, insanity, dementia etc than traditional blood and guts gore or shocking jump scares
Laughed audibly at the "she's right behind you" scene in episode 1. Ghost-mom was like "not gonna turn around? aight Imma go make a sandwich"
Finished over the weekend. Definitely enjoyed it, but I think I'd slot it into #3 on my list of Flanagan's Netflix series. 1) Hill House 2) Midnight Mass 3) The Fall of the House of Usher 4) Bly Manor I haven't watched the Midnight Club yet (honestly not sure why), so that's next on my list when I can get around to it.
I think Bly Manor suffered by being right after Hill House and another Haunted House show - it was still very good. Midnight Club was dog shit.
Finished this finally. Enjoyed it. Impressive writing to weave all the stories together into one while each episode was a story on its own. Enjoyed all the little Easter eggs too. Poe is the Goat. Still like Hill House and maybe midnight mass better.
