Go fuck yourself you dumb cunt. They’ve been releasing at the same time all season long and then for the finale push it back 3 hours. That’s absurd
If it was done to limit spoilers this seems like a much worse situation. Not many east coasters are staying up.
I won’t be able to stay up with an early morning tomorrow. I know at some point in time tomorrow I’ll fuck up and open twitter out of habit.
I don’t understand…do my fellow west coast TMBers not stay up to watch the epis on Tuesday night? Saw th thread bumped and assumed the finale was being discussed…
I did not think that was a good episode or finale. Or all that close, really. Hope other people liked it more than I did.
Lackluster season all around. Back to the Future pt 3 of third seasons. Fine, happy it was made, happy to spend time with some of the characters, but in the end doesn’t capture the magic of the preceding chapters.
I liked a lot of the season. Some episodes were rough, but I thought it picked up steam at the end and was still very good most weeks. I just didn't like the finale and there are parts of it that I legitimately hated. I hated the Roy/Keeley/Jamie thing to the point where I was legit mad and paused it for a bit. I hated the time they spent on stupid shit I don't care about like Rupert and that middle finger cold open to the Ted/Rebecca stans (I'm not one of them) instead of showing scenes they actually built to and we got zero payoff from (like Nate walking into Richmond, or Ted telling the team or the media he was leaving, or an actual conversation from Roy/Keeley about their relationship instead of whatever that was). And then stupid little stuff like how do you have a montage/scene of Beard's wedding sometime in the future where literally everyone but Ted is there. What the fuck? Or the completely unrealistic stuff from the game that just makes it feel so silly just to drag it on. Or showing whatever the hell was happening with Michelle and Dr. what's his name where he's basically shitting on Ted during the game, but we have no clue what that's about. I mean it when I said I hope other people liked it more than me. If that was what you wanted out of the finale, that's great. But if this was the end, I wanted satisfying resolutions to stories they've made me care about more than I wanted montages and callbacks. They chose to do the latter instead of the former. And if my disappointment in being annoyed by that makes Dump hate me, so be it.
the things that bothered me about it were pretty minor. the biggest was probably Ted not being at Beard’s wedding but that would just be awkward to have him fly back. Nate being allowed to quit West Ham and then coach against them a couple weeks later is dumb but who cares, and I’m happy he didn’t get some major success in redemption. I’m fine with no resolution to the Keely love triangle. Sam’s story got a happy ending even if we have no idea how it got there. Rebecca got a nice ending that made some sense and we probably should have seen coming. I thought it was a good, happy ending of a finale. it was like the opposite of Barry which took big chances in closing out it’s story. Ted Lasso kept it very simple but I still enjoyed it. also they really leaned hard into the Rupert-Vader stuff which made me laugh. kind of wish he would have choked the coach.
Nate wasn’t coaching against West Ham. He was the assistant kit man. Ted just used him as a prop to let them know what the play was.
Am I the only one who took Beard’s wedding and the rest of the montage to be Ted’s dream on the plane ride home? Might explain why he wasn’t “there”.
I get why they did it like they did to fit the book into the episode, but it was kind of weird they couldn't figure out a better way to do it than have Trent write any version of it before the end of a season where they had a chance to win the league in the last week. And with Ted leaving and all that stuff that wouldn't be in it.
I don’t hate you but its just that you sound like a teenage girl. And hopefully a good enough reason why we shouldn’t be using AI to write scripts. Like why would we get a goodbye presser from Ted? He literally told Trent Crimm that this was never about him and it totally goes against his character. Yes we didn’t get a scene with Nate walking into Richmond but we get a scene that introduces him back into the Richmond lockerroom and a scene with Ted and another one with the Diamond Dogs. The Roy/Jamie/Keeley scene was meant to show that Roy was clearly not ready to move forward with Keeley just yet. But in the flash foward montage they kinda showed them together with Phoebe on Keeley’s lap and Roy finally going to therapy to work on himself. And Jamie is finally stable enough in himself and life where he can go visit with his dad in rehab and laugh with him. The Michelle scenes were just meant to show us that she had clearly moved on from the Dr and as you noticed he was not there when Ted got home or at Henry’s soccer game.
Ted literally fucking told him that it was never about him. It was about Richmond. And he clearly didnt finish it before the end of the season, he just had a very rough draft of it so Ted and Beard could at least proofread it before they had to leave.
If its anything that we learned from Rebecca about Rupert this season it was that he has always had a soft spot for Richmond, that stadium, and the game of football. To see him get booed off of the pitch after his blowup was the end of the story because not only did he lose yet another club but he finally lost the sport he loved and he lost the place where he discovered his love of it after he spent his childhood sneaking into it since his parents could never afford tickets
From the beard episode- the redhead was the woman who took him home and gave him some pants, and the bald guy was her bf/husband who chased beard and ultimately saved him from some hooligans, iirc.
Subscribed to Apple TV for Lasso. Already watched Shrinking. Watched the first episode of Platonic- but is that enough to keep the script going? Anything else in Apple TV that’s good?
Wife got this at their series finale event last night. A lot of cool stuff from the cast. If anyone wants me to scan it or certain pages to read, let me know.
A sneaky good part of the Believe sign scene is Jamie keeping his scrap part in the book that Ted gave him in season 1 but ya know this show didn’t go with your typical sitcom trope of coupling people up at the end and instead went with everyone growing as a mature, singular person within themselves so its all garbage
Yes. Thank goodness we got the maturity of Roy and Jamie getting into a brawl out of nowhere and going to Keeley and telling her that they would allow her to choose one of them to be with. Such grace and class from our heroes.
To be fair, I think their growth starts after Keeley rejects both of them and they’re left on the doorstep. At that point I think both of them say something to the effect of “we are dumbasses”
