#Book Club Vote for the September 2023 Book Mary - Nat Cassidy The Haunting of Alejandra - V Castro The Adventures of Amina Al-Sarifi by Shannon Chakraborty Holly - Stephen King
I won't be participating again, still working my way through Dark Ages & Light Bringer - but was looking at Holly. I noticed it's 3rd in a series, would it hold up as a standalone read or should I plan on reading the first 2?
I believe it will hold up on its own. It is not really the 3rd book in a series. She is a character that has shown up in other books he has written. She was a fairly prominent character in his Bill Hodges Trilogy (Mr. Mercedes et. al.) as well as The Outsider (which was a Book Club book a few years ago and did not require knowledge of the Bill Hodges books.) This is “her book” and I believe he wrote it to be able to stand on its own.
